Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: jbl sub 135 motorboating b4

Sounds like a possible ground loop problem. Are there anyother cables running on top or along side the sub cable? Also, make sure there is no other remotes or electronics on top of the sub itself.

SOURCE: jbl sub 135 motorboating b4

Turning the unit on without any input signal, the speaker did the pop and scratching sound. I found on the limiter board ( small pc board on the main input pc board) that there is a wire jumper on the back side of that had a cold solder joint. You will have to clean up the glue that was used to hold the wire on the back side of the board. I just replaced the wire with new one.

Look at the +15vdc off of Q117, I moved it to the left side of the pc board and added a heat sink to the unit. The 1 watt resistor created some cold solder joints that you will have to check.

hope this helps

JBL-SUB135S please i need User Manual

As it is also sold as part of this system, Cinema ProPack 600, this manual should suffice.

http://www.jbl.com/resources/Brands/jbl/Products/ProductRelatedDocuments/en-US/OwnersManual/JBL%20CPP600%20OM%20(final).pdf

Page 37 gets into it. That's all there is to know.

There's not a lot going on in a vanilla self-powered sub. You seen one, you've seen them all.

Everything works except for mp3 when i plug it in. doesnt even say aux on screen

Just figured this out !
1) You have to be in 'Standby' mode - press (SRC) until it shows standby.
2). Press and hold 'Menu' button.
3). Using the joystick - move it left or right until it shows 'AUX' 'OFF'.
4). Move joystick up or down until it shows 'AUX ON1'.

It should now work ! - This is on P.22 of the manual - but it actually starts on page 19 where it describes 'Standby' mode.

How to connect the wires of jbl sub 145

what kind of conections do you have on the back of the sub you should either have RCA connections or just one RCA connection or a place for speaker wire to plug directly into it. IF you have RCA connections in back i would use those they will connect directly to your system if your system had and a sub pre out on it read your manual and follow those instructions as well it will help

Harman Kardon AVR325 stays in standby mode

Was a solution ever found for this? I have almost the same problem, except that mine makes a horrible sound through the speakers before it shuts off. However, after an attempt or two, mine usually starts working and sounds fine (I love how this thing sounds!). It seems to happen more when I've let it sit for a week or two. When I use it regularly, it usually works fine. It's almost like it knows when I'm about to give in and replace it... because it will start working again! Maybe I just need to make an effort to use it more....

Jbl sub 135 motorboating b4 warm up JBL sub135 I never heard it called motorboating, but that is a good description of the sound, It's like the sub is trying to output sounds which are not in its range...

JBL PB12 standby WAY too sensative

It sounds like there are failing parts in the amp and possibly in the power supply sections. You should contact JBL to find out their service rep in your area.

This unit will not be cheap to service. But, you can start by investigating to know where you are going with it.
