Wont just be the barrel.

The whole thing will need to be stripped right down and cleaned including the piston, chamber and mainspring.

You may even have a broken mainspring

Best recommended bullet weights for a 1:9 twist 16 inch barrel in 5.56

Head to Walmart and buy whatever's cheapest. Just because some other "expert" tells you something there's no reason you should fall for that dreg and there's no reason to pass it on. Your gun will fire *any* common 5.56 ammo. Buy whatever's cheapest and that will run reliably in your gun. You aren't sniping terrorists at 1,000 yards.

My gun works but has been stored for about 30 years. What maintenance should I perform?

what sort of gun is it ( vital information)
if it is a gun that uses live ammo , the a clean barrel bore is a must as any rust or obstruction will have it explode in your face
if it an air rifle , the bore has to be clean and rust free or the slugs will jam in the barrel
What you should be doing is pulling it completely down and cleaning , oiling and replacing any unserviceable parts
if you do not know how to do that then a gunsmith is the answer

Smith wesson problems MP15/223 cal.

How many rounds are you capping off on one trip to to the range? If it a 100 rounds or more, your weapon will retain a small amount more burnt powder and the lacquer coating on the cartridges, but it really is hardly noticeable, but still need to keep your weapon clean no matter if you are using copper. Made in USA. The mp (military /police) is a cheap version of that rifle with no cover over the breech, and no clambering damper. Still worth 5-6 hundred new.. The firing pin cruds up, and if it was fired before you got it and wasn't cleaned that would do it. If it fires, it will jam! Try the dirty gun stenerio, not a bad choice, Colt or Armalite get a little more respect and higher price. Never give up on a 15 , parts are available and reasonable price, and ther are a million upgrades , but careful not to find that you have made it too heavy

Marlin rifle model 795 jams intermittently

It takes about 250 rounds to break in a gun. Try some hotter ammo and see if the problem disappears, if so, call Marlin and ask them for their solution if you want to keep using Federal, you might want to try some Remington standard velocity target, it is very accurate in most guns.
I would shoot it for at least 500 rounds and clean it from powder debris in chamber and receiver bolt and trigger group and try it again, however don't hesitate to get a hold of Marlin, they are nice folks.

Wenchester 1300 pump shoot one time then jams

This is the cars and trucks section, but I will try to help. Make sure your barrel is fully turned into the receiver. Check for cleaning pads jammed into a moving part. Make sure your shell length is correct for the gun.

Try different Factory ammo, reloads may be deformed. Bring some of its' used casings along to a Gunsmith, he/she may be able to look at them and see machine marks from how the firing chamber is operating.

I hope my solution is helpful, please rate.

I have a 243 cal single shot that snaped when fired. Tried different ammo. still misfires

Firing pin is worn. It may make a slight dent in the primer, but not quite enough to press against the anvil inside of the primer, hence the misfiring

Talk to a gunsmith to see if he has any spares, or has the ability to repair the firing pin.

It will not fire and I have put the correct ammo in the gun,and I have loaded it the correct way and it will still not fire

Check the end of your ammo. See if there is a dent in it. It should strike the shell hard and leave a very good indention if not,the spring or firing pin is are using new ammo right?
