Speakers?

Hi,
My speaker system is set up like this.

I'd love to just have one receiver, but the speakers on receiver 1 are connected by RCA plugs, but the speakers on receiver 2 are connected directly by speaker wire.
To get the Receiver 1 speaker onto receiver 2, could I simply snip off the RCA plugs with scissors and attach then to the same ports as the Receiver 2 speakers?
The max input for the speakers of receiver 1 is 35W, but for Receiver 2 it is 80W.
Thanks in advance.

-   Looking to buy a new receiver and use the Bose CineMate speakers for all sound, not just sound from TV. Most receivers have bare-wire connections for speakers. Since the Bose has RCA connectors I'm wondering how to make it work. Are there voltage levels I need to be concerned about here? Is the signal coming out of the speaker outputs for the bare wire higher than the signal the goes into the RCA connectors?

Stuck in a dilemma.
