SOURCE: auto chain oiler not working

To remove the pump, start by removing the two 19mm bar nuts, remove the side cover, bar and chain, remove the c clip on the end of the crank, now remove the clutch drum, you now need a special tool to remove the clutch, part no, 530031112,the clutch is just spun onto the crank, left hand thread, the tool fits into the two cut a ways in the clutch centre and allows you to jar it off against compression, once removed there are just two screws retaining the pump assembly, check both gears for wear, you can now also pry out the oil pick up tube.

I have a McCulloch CS38EM Why is the auto oiler not producing oil to chain. The port seems to be clear.

There is a spiral ring that drives the oiler on the crankshaft. Sometimes that slips and no longer turns the oiler. You can move it back and put a few drops of thread locker on the shaft before you place the spiral in place.

Stihl chainsaw (Farm Boss) - chain oiler has stopped working, how do I check the fault ?

Hi John...
You will need to remove the bar and chain...behind the bar is the auto oiler it works on the shaft of the chainsaw, you will have to remove it and clean all the outlets for the oil to the chain.

Hi allanpriest...

Forget the auto oiler...use a handheld oil gun to lube the chain on your saw...just lube the chain approx. every 2 - 4 minutes of use

I need to know the oil gas ratio, and about chain

Hi ccollins529...
Normally a 50 to 1 mixture is fine...1 pint 2 cycle oil to 6 gallons of gasoline.
Use "bar and chain" oil on the bar, this is an oil blended for the chain and bar.
If yours has an auto oiler you will put the oil in the bar/chain oil container.
If you do not have an auto oiler, use a hand oiler to lube the chain when needed.

Your response about the electric chain saw that must be oiled manually was about a self-oiling chain saw so it did not answer my question. How to oil the saw? Use an oil can to spread the oild across the...

Your chain saw is a manually oiled model which means YOU have to pump it.YOU do not pour oil on the chain. An auto oiler model works without you doing anything, the pump is run by the engine. A manual model, you pump the oiler The Chain saw has internal oil channels or holes to apply the oil directly under the chain and into the chain bar guide. Pouring oil on the guide or chain will NEVER lubricate the chain properly. Whomever gave you such an idea is just plain wrong. I sent you the link to the owner manual and gave you a diagram. Auto oiler not working

Remove the bar cover. Remove the chain and bar. Behind the bar you will see a set of 4 or 5 small square openings. This is the auto oiler. Make sure they are not obstructed with gunk. There is also an adjustment to increase the oil flow to the bar. It is a small screw and will be marked with a + on one side and a - on the other. You can adjust it to run from 5 (minimum) to 15ml (maximum) per minute. Never use old motor oil or 2 cycle oil in yo

Chain binds saw dies saw runs fine with out bar chain on clutch bearing? help poluan 3416 16 inch 34cc

Is your chain oiler working? If you're using saw a lot and the oiler isn't working properly the chain will get hot and bind up especially if the chain is too tight. Tighten the chain so that you can squeeze it in the center of the bar, with your second and third finger on the sides of your fingers (not a very strong grip) and you should be able to almost pull the chain out of the bar guide but not quite. Clean the oiler hole in your bar where the chain oiler injects oil into the bar. You can also run your saw without a bar and chain and see if the oiler is pushing oil out of the injector.
