Attaching camera to tripod

posted by beth 2 on Nov 18, 2007

I have a Vivitar V99 tripod that I'd like to attach to my Canon PowerShot A630 camera. Theres a hole for the screw at the bottom of the camera, but no place or part to attach it to the tripod. The tripod just has this 3/8" deep depression, rectangular shape, about 1 1/4" square, and there's a spring-loaded lever at the edge of this hole. Obviously there's a part that will join the two together. What is it? Can I get it? (I live near Orlando).
