Hi, Possibly either of 2 reasons: 1. Your player is not sending any signal to the Optima meaning it is the one in question and not the projector; or 2. Your Optima lost its input signal, go through the signal source selection menu, try manual selection & set it to where your source/player is connected. Hope this works out for you, if not pls post again . Good luck and kind regards.

Sp4805 turns on by itself, direct tv picture will run for a short while then dorps out. I can't seem to pick a source? I tried my dvd player and it seemed to work normally. menu options are not highlighted...

In the sources menu where you assign sources, the second selection from the bottom is where you enable/disable sources which can inhibit a source/input from working even if it is assigned. Also check mark the auto source enable box.
If the input you are trying to use is not assigned or enabled many of the menu items are grayed out.

A quick fix is selecting the "factory reset" in the menu as the default factory settings are such that all input's are set to work.

Good Luck!

Infocus X2 projector shows picture in black and white only...

that little glass square broke off of the colorwheel, and it needs to be replaced. that yellow/gray line is from the light tunnel collapsing. both parts can be purchased and replaced by you. if you don't feel comfortable doing it, you can send it in to an authorized service center. try av solutions. they're pretty good. you can purchase infocus parts from them, too.

Infocus X1A Projector

This is a very common issue with the Infocus projectors. Sounds like the mirror tunnel that sits right behind the Color Wheel and concentrates the light source onto the DLP chip. This tunnel which is shaped like a small prism is very fragile and can "fall apart" over time. Some have attempted to try and remove the tunnel and repair with limited success. Otherwise you may either need to send the unit in for repair or find a dealer who can order the part for you.

Here is another who had the same issue;

The picture shows dark

Hi there

Take out the Projector's lamp and check for any black marks ( almost looks like veins ) on the inside of the bulb.

If you spot anything on the lamp , your lamp will need replacement.

If you can't see anything - then you might be in for a new Mainboard.

Very expensive exercise !
