Question about Acer Aspire One AOA110-1588 Notebook

1 Answer

Computer immediately shuts down upon starting had the computer on earlier today shut down in stand-by mode. later I tried to restart the computer and once it got to the main screen with the icons shown it made a beeping noise and shut down. I thought it was the battery so I plugged it in but it did the same thing. my husband suggested taking out the battery so I tried that and when I put the battery back in it still did the same thing.

    Vista.
I tried the previous suggestion of taking out the battery and running on AC power and it still will not stay on.
There doesn't seem to be a definite beep, more of a squeak almost as it is shutting down.
    Thanx

What operating system is running xp or vista? There is usually a beep code set to a hardware problem. So, how many beeps does the computer do before shutting down?

Ok Take out the battery and leave it out for about an hour. IN the time its out Run the laptop on AC power and then go to control panel, open power options, and remove the hibernation check, and the turn the system standby to never, then hit apply. Then turn you laptop off and re insert the battery. If you still get the shutdown where it wont run on battery, then you need to replace the battery.

KDL52EX700 shuts down and restarts

If it is showing a blue scree of death (BSOD) and shuts down before you can read the error message try this:
Turn the computer off, then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Scroll down below Safe Mode and you will see an option to Disable Automatic Restart. Select it and reboot your machine. Next time it boots up you will be able to read the error message. You'll probably need a system disc or repair disc to fix the blue screen error message.

New application quites upon launch on macbook OS 10.6

Welcome.

First of all, make sure that the application meets the system requirements.

Restart the computer by choosing Apple Menu - Restart. Also you can try to Restart in Safe Mode.

To Restart in Safe Mode:
  1. Shut down your computer and wait 10 seconds.

  2. Press the power button.

  3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key.

You should press the Shift key as soon as possible after you hear the startup tone, but not before.

  4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator (spinning gear).

Hope this helps!

I have a Toshiba Satellite U505 pc laptop that was working earlier today. I was in the middle of showing a video to a friend when it just shut down. I turned it on again and the Toshiba screen showed up...

If that was a video over the internet you may have downloaded a smart virus. ( ie/ tricks the computer in thinking it is safe ). Shut the computer down and restart it in safe mode. F8 or F11 while it is booting up, ( I could never remember! ). Close all residual tabs/web locations and all other programs. Go to the START icon and restart in normal mode. Me thinks that should do it for you.

Try going into safe mode upon startup by hitting the F8 button. If it does then hit safe mode to get into your computer. Go to start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Follow the wizard to restore your computer to a date earlier than when you started having problems. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.

Toshiba Satellite A55-S306 doesn't come out of hybernation

Turn the PC on, when it is booting up, keep hitting "F8" until windows boot options come up, choose "Safe Mode" and then once it boots into safe mode fully, go to the start menu and choose shut down. After it shuts down, turn it back on and it should go back into normal mode. From now on, don't use Hibernate, its buggy and has been since XP.
