Re: save device error

What save device are you using? memory card or hard drive?

It sounds like whatever you're using has started to malfunction. Are you able to pull up other save games?

Note that saved games are associated to a unique profile on the device, even if you're not on Xbox Live. That is, if you were logged in as profile "tools" when you saved the game you have to be logged into the same profile to load the game.

Hi. Try this. You will lose any achievements you have earned since your profile went offline.

After i updated my xbox my save information that i had ofline wont play on my profile. so all the game save data is on my hard drive but it wont let me select missions in games i already beat. so the...

There are a few things I can think of that may be causing the problems...

1: The data on your hard drive has been corrupt some way. (Usually happens if you touch the hard drive's plug in with your fingers or a piece of metal) you will have to buy a new hard drive (recommend a 1st party one to save you time and stress)

2: Your using a 3rd party unauthorized hard drive and after the february or november update (can't quite remember) all unauthorized memory units are automatically locked and all data in that memory unit becomes corrupt and unable to read just about all data on it... (Just buy a 1st party as it will save you time and stress)

3: You have been banned from xbox live... When you get banned microsoft locks your hard drive just like explanation 2 EXCEPT this effects 1st party hard drives aswell... I'm not quite sure about this but I think it also locks out any hard drive/memory card you put in it ever again... If youve been banned then I would recommend either buying and elite (for the 120gb hard drive, headset, live bundle) or a pro.

Over all I'm 99% sure that you can't salvage your game data... sorry.

Corrupted profile on XBox 360

I have heared that if you just delete the profile, just the profile, everything will be just fine (note: This only works if your profile is on xbox live).
Just go to memor, then go into the saving device the corrupted profile is on. Then "click" on the botton that says profile and delete the corrupted profile. Remember; the profile will be a small save and not taking up most of your harddrive, look for something with MB size, not GB size. When you have done this, go to "recover gamertag" and do so for the profile you just deleted. After all this, your game saves and achivements should be present and working.

Corrupted profile

If you're on Xbox Live you can use the "recover gamertag" option to see if you can pull down your profile from the MS servers. Briefly press the center "Xbox" button in the middle of your controller when on the welcome screen where you normally select your profiles.

If you are not on Xbox Live you have probably got a problem with your save device (memory card or hard drive.) I recommend calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX and asking them to help you recover the profile.
