SOURCE: my blackberry roller wont move down... is there

There is a little workaround... When you're in e-mail, you can touch "t" to go to the top of the list, the spacebar to go down a page at a time, and "b" to go to the bottom of the list. It seems to work on other pages as well, at least sometimes. That has helped me while I figure out what's really wrong with it.

Shortly before my rollerball stopped rolling up, it turned a dark red color when it's not illuminated; it has kind of a pale pink glow when it's lit up. I'm still digging around on for info on this, but maybe this will help in the meantime with yours.

I have a Dyson 24 ball. How do I get the brush to turn on?

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

There are a number of reasons why your brush roller has stopped moving. General maintenance to your vacuum is crucial and will help it work at peak performance.

First things first lets focus on the brush roller. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roller. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roller to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roller is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roller. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is affecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

Tip

Mouse Balls ! How to clean a cranky mouse

This applies to ball type mice not the optical type.

If your mouse has stopped moving the cursor but the buttons still work or it isn;t as smooth as it used to be then this tip should help fix that. A lot of people will go out and buy a new mouse when all they needed to do was clean it.

To clean your mouse all you need is some rubbing alcohol, paper towels, cotton swabs and sometimes a pair of tweezers.

First thing to do is open the cover on the bottom and take the ball out. Use your thumbs to twist the cover and it will unlock. Set these aside we will clean them last.

Now look in the cavity and you will see a couple of wide rollers. These are what the ball rubs against and these in turn are used to generate the position signals to your computer. When they get dirty they won't roll and the result is that the mouse doesn't think it has moved. When you look at the rollers a dirty one looks like the photo.

The grey can be a a few things usually a mix of oils and dust. And sometimes it is lint. Soak one of the swabs in alcohol and wipe the roller. You will have to clean a spot then rotate the roller to clean a new area. When the stripe or buildup is gone then go to the next one. This takes a minute or so per roller so it is quick. If the buildup is stubborn you may need to scrape it off then clean.

The next thing to clean is the ball using a paper towel with alcohol. Just give it a good wipe and let it dry. Next clean the cover and the bottom of the mouse body. You may want to clean the surface you use the mouse on as well.

Replace the ball, replace and lock the cover in place and you are done.

The mouse should work normally now. If it still doesn;t it can be due to wear or lint on the internal sensors. However cleaning the mouse like this fixes it about 99.99% of the time.

You may just need to clean it. Many times when people use hand lotion or other things oil etc. it gets on the ball and interferes with the board. Try cleaning the ball with cottonball and alcohol. It really makes a difference.
Hope this helps.

Pearl roller ball

It might be a case where the track ball has some dirt or debris underneath it. First, turn the device off. Next, press down firmly on the track ball while at the same time rolling it in every direction. Hopefully that will knock loose any debris. Another tip to try is to wet your thumb with a little water and do the same thing.

If those two options don't work, you may try taking out the track ball and blowing out the slot with some compressed air. Below is a link that shows how to remove and clean the track ball:
