Question about Samsung HL-S6187W 61 in. HDTV
The problem continues to happen at a quicker interval as turn the unit back on. I checked the timer and it is not on. The current bulb is the original the DLP came with. I thought about replacing it, but wasn't sure if that was the root problem. Please assist.
Since the lamp is the original I suggest replacing the lamp. There is a Black Lamp Door in the rear of the set. Remove the Door and then the Lamp Exhaust Duct. Then you will see the lamp. Loosen the one screw on the Lamp and pull straight out. Now look at the front of the lamp. If you see shattered glass in side then you have a bad lamp. Note: Sometimes there will be no shattered glass and the Lamp can still be bad. When you have the new lamp becareful not to touch the front glass, not even once. Reinstall the new Lamp in the reverse order and make sure that you reinstall the Lamp Door and tighten the screw as the tv will not work with the door missing. The Lamp part# is BP96-01472A.
