Outside temp not measuring correctly

I have the Envirastation DWS 150 and the outside temp is measuring all over the place. One day it says 126.3 degrees and it's only 80 degrees outside. I have replace batteries in both units to no avail. Inside unit is fine.

The outside unit has been in the same spot for about 2 years now. In the shade under a covered porch. So sun or weather is not the problem. It just started showing eratic temps this summer.

I keep the outside unit of our in/out set under a coffee can shaded under a bench; one could argue the aesthetics but shielding it from wind and sun is mandatory otherwise one can get record temps pretty often.
The outside units generally transmit to the receivers only every few minutes to keep battery consumption down so moving them won't necessary gie you an immediate change.

Usually it is due to bad batteries or remote is too far away from home unit. Put units next to each other and press the channel button on front of the home unit. It will start a search to find the remote. If it finds it with a temp reading press the channel button again and you should hear a beep. Channel is locked in. If you still do not get a temp reading try changing batteries in both units and try again. Another try is to unplug the home unit and wait several minutes with no batteries in either house unit or remote. Replace batteries in remote then in house unit and plug back into power. Set all settings and see if you get the reading. If not try step one again. Weak batteries will do the same thing as well as remote to far away from unit.

I have the correct Manifold Gauges for checking the low and high side of the heat pump. How do I read the gauges to ensure that my system has the right charge? Outside ambient temperature is 85.4.

In order to know if you have the correct charge you must measure the subcooling since it is a txv unit. The outside unit will have the proper subooling you need printed on the data plate. Hook up you gauges and let thebunit run for 10 minutes, after 10 minutes check the high side pressure, that high side pressure will correspond to a saturation temp, write that number down then measure the temp of the liquid line and subtract the saturation temp from the liquid line temp, it should be the same as printed on tjhe data plate if it is higher than that add refrigerant untill you get whtas printed on tne data plate. Is there is no data plate use 12 degrees of subcooling.

I cannot find the owners manual to hometics envirastation dws-400 weather station, and need to know how to synchronize the outdoor temperature sensor with the indoor station readout (i.e. pressing what...

You must remove the batteries in the base unit, replace them, and it should work properly. You can press the Tx button on the back of the remote unit to verify the RF reception. To ensure it is working properly, place both units next to each other indoors and make sure they read the same temperature.
The manual can be found here. Refer to page 3 for more information.

126 is 84% of what

126/X=84%. But 84%=0.84. Thus X=126/0.84=150.
Check 150*0.84 =126

Sta-rite heater error code 126

The 126 is not an error code, but it maybe the temp of the water that the heater is reading. If the heater thinks the water is 126 degrees, it will not start at all.

If the heater is reading the wrong water temp, the problem is the Thermister, which is the sensor that is suppose to read the water temp. You will need to replace this sensor in order to correct the problem with the heater. It is really easy to do!

If you have a manual for the heater, if you go to the Replacement Parts Listing for the Electrical System, page 53 in the online version, the Thermistor is Item #9. It goes into the left side of the manifold in the to place, between the first two manifold bolts.
