Hi, You will need to change the coils on top ogf the gas valve. If this is a Whirlpool model with rear panel access here is how: UNPLUG the dryer. This model you need to remove the two screws under the lint screen. Now use a flat blade screw drive and insert it in the gap between the top and the front panel and pry the top up. Now locate and remove the screws on the inside of the front panel in upper corners. The front should lift off. You will see the two black coils on the gas valve. When you remove the three wire coil, make sure the sleeve inside it gets put back on the post the coils slides onto.
If this model is a front access model, just remove the lower front panle and the valve is on the right side
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

Slant fin boiler galaxy natural gas, pump starts and runs. Igniter comes on . Pilot lights. Burner lights. Runs for seconds. Burn shuts down. Igniter starts pilot light, pilot goes out and on and on

The flame sensor, which is located in front of one of the burner flames is probably oxidized and needs cleaning or replacement. If the unit can't "sense" the flame, it will continue to cycle.

The oven will not preheat and come on

It's could be a faulty igniter, or dirty/faulty flame detector. It comes on just before the gas valve opens. If a flame isn't detected within a second or 2, the gas valve shuts off.

If the igniter glows cherry-red and the oven lights & shuts-off, then locate the flame detector (it looks like a long rod that pokes into the burner flame) and use a scotch-brite pad or some steel wool and clean it up a bit to remove any residue that can cause it to malfunction.

If that doesn't work, it will need to be replaced.

Furnance lights and then burner goes out

I'm assuming this is a remote sensor... if so, you need to read the MicroAmps that the flame is generating. If it is anything less than 4, then either the flame is not hitting the sensor enough, or the sensor needs replaced.

Burner lights and shuts off 3 times and then give warning lights A and B

It depends on the model but AB on most of the AOS the A & B LED's lighting up usually means ignition/flame failure.

Ignition/flame failure:

The gas control valve/thermostat has reached the maximum number of retries (3) for ignition and is currently locked out for one hour. Cycle the power to the water heater off and on to reset.

Basic troubleshooting/solutions:

1 Ensure flame sensor is making good contact with the burner flame and ensure flame is steady. Also ensure supply and manifold gas pressures are within the requirements in the installation manual.

2 Gas supply is turned off - pressure is too low. For low gas pressure, consult with your gas utility.

3 Ensure the flame sensor is clean - use fine steel wool to clean the flame sensor.

4 Check igniter assembly plug and the socket on the bottom of the gas control valve/thermostat for good connection. Replace igniter assembly if the plug is worn or damaged. Replace the gas control valve/thermostat if socket is worn or damaged.

5 Replace igniter assembly.

If this does not apply to your model then here is a link to the instruction manuals for all models:

Replace the flame sensor on the side of the heat canister. You may also have to replace the gas valve coils.

Yes the problem has been solved by cleaning jet and repositioning thermo-couple so that it is well into the flame. It would therefore appear that the combination of a partially blocked gas jet and a badly aligned thermo-couple triggered the auto-igniter .
Thanks for your interest,.......I am afraid that at my age now help has to come free of charge.A new auto-igniter would have been £69 and a thermo-couple £35.A new jet was a reasonable £6...........
