Question about Philips 55PW9363 55" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Philips 55pw9363 next problem

I had the red go wacky so I had searched and replaced the STK392-120 IC's as per a posting here. The colors are back, but way out of adjustment. I bought the complete service manual. I have a problem now where the picture is bowed. The center is lower than the ends. This is happening both on the top and bottom. I can not get this resolved through the geometry settings either. What next?

Have you change the RGB setting to Y/Yb/Yr?

You can change this option in the menu - install then go all the way to the bottom

I have to much red and to muchblue it turns in togreen

CRT coolant needs replacement. The red has become dominate due to the green coolant needing replacement. The blue will soon follow and red will be the only color that wont get affected. You can get the phillips CRT coolant kit from the kit contains the coolant and the CD with instructions.

Convergence problem

replace the convergence ic. the IC# is STK392-120, replace this two ic at the same time. then put some silicon grease on the back of the IC for better heat transfer. some will work on replacing just 1 IC but I would recommend to replace both per philips advise. hope this help. regards, cebuwano.

That could be either the coolant is needing replacement or the ICs have failed can you post a pic of the screen and I can diagnose correctly

Double image in bright blue with philips model 55pw9363/17f

You may have 1 of two problems.

1) Convergence Chips are failing - Using your original remote goto the "convergence" screen.

Try to adjust the red - UP - DOWN - LEFT - RIGHT

Next try to adjust the blue - UP - DOWN - LEFT - RIGHT

If you can move both colors in all directions you do not have a convergence issue.

If you can't move one or more colors in one or more directions the convergence chips are defective and need to be replaced.

If your convergence chips test out ok the most likely problem is......

2) CRT Coolant is cloudy  - The bright outline you described is one common symptom. Other symptoms include dull images, red or orange tint, halo around images.

If you goto the site - and click on "Tips" - you will find more detailed instructions on how to check the convergence.

55 philips replaced ic's as suggested and still red /blue around everything...

Now the heading list your model as 55PW9363 Which model number is your set? If the resistors arent open it has to be a pico fuse, But I wasnt aware that the DPTV series have pico fuses, they do have fusible links solderd directly to the circuits. Let me know your accurate model number. I was under the impression it was the 55PP9352/17 which is the DPTV305 series chassis or Mag01 which is the same except for magnavox

Replaced ic on philips you told me about which resitors are 6.8 ohm ....

your model is 55PP9352/17 correct? If so all the resistors from R3149 - R3160 are all 6.8Ohm 1watt 5% tolerance. metal film resistors. The resistors in your upper pic 3157 and 3158 appear to be open by looking at the pic I cant actually make out the banding colors to determine what rating they are. But if your set is a 55PP9352/17 they should be 6.8 ohm. let me know the actual color of the bands in order and I will post the ratings of 3157 &3158
