Its the motherboard. hp is aware of this issue. please visit their site and type in your model number there has been release a limited service enhancement to replace motherboards affected by this. there is another solution that has worked somewhat, which is to update your current bios to the most current and then go into your device manager and unistall the microsoft acpi-compliant control method battery under batteries there. i have found that to work often, in the event it does not you should really try the enhancement warrant, i sent out 2 units today for that same problem

good luck!

Try taking out the battery and try turning it on with it plugged in. If it works, you need a new battery.

Hp pavillion will not turn on, took battery out and put back in still not working. blue light around power cord on and blue lightening bolt flashes

Hi Iceprincess5

The three flashing lights indicate the battery is dead. Since it still wont power up with the cable plugged in I'd say the port has gone. Try wiggling the adapter about in the port to see if it begins to charge. If not then you would need to take it to a laptop repair centre to get a new dc port soldered on or buy a docking station.

When connected to mains adapter the 2 left side LEDs on the front of the computer {standby+mains connected]start to flash and doesnt charg

This happens when the battery will not hold a charge. You will need a replacement battery if you want that light to go away.

If the battery has not been like that too long
put in a plastic bag and freeze overnight
let thaw until room temp
insert battery
plug in jack
do not power on laptop
let charge for1 hour
then try
