I assume this is a central unit, the flashes may indicate a fault, there should be a chart on the wiring diagram on the back of the door that will explain the blinks, you ned to count them and look at the chart. There are many reasons why the compressor may not come on, you need to verify power and that the termostat is calling for cooling

I have an old Carrier N1340 air conditioner that works when switched on, green light flashes 4 times, for a few times then it shuts down. There is also a flashing red light inside that unit.

There will be a list of flash codes in your manual or on the inside cover of the unit indicating what the problem is eg. low pressure or high pressure alarm

Why won't the red blinking light go off on my primo water cooler?

If the cooler or the water are not getting cold I would check for a high pressure reset if they are getting cold the compressor would working fine, you could also try flushing it, is there a pattern to the flash that may indicate a code................good luck! mine has developed a leak and does not heat less that 6 mo old pretty disapointing.

Carrier Air V has green & red light flashing. Unit will not stay running.

there should be a diagram on the front panel of the unit that tells you what your lights mean , and they will tell you what is wrong with the unit... carriers are pertty good and simple , read the panel it will give you something to go on ...

Freezer FZ175 Red Warning Light is flashing

The flashing red light indicates the problem in the temperature of the unit. The temperature is rising over then required so the red light is flashing. There are some possibilities that you will have to get checked.
1) Make sure your freezer/refrigerator door is closing properly and sealing all around. If the doors are not closing properly then this can lead to rise in temperature.
2) If doors are proper and closed properly then other possibility is to check the compressor .Check the compressor is it running properly or its not running.Beside the compressor there is a fan if the fan is running the compressor is turning on if fan is not running the compressor is not running. If the unit is not getting very cold this also indicates the problem is in the compressor section.A weak or faulty compressor causes the temperature rise problem.
3) If compressor also checks out ok then the other possibility is fault in the thermostat of the unit. The thermostat is getting overheated and this is causing the red light flashing.
4) Before replacing any part in the unit try the defrost procedure first .Keep the unit unplugged from power and keep both the freezer/refrigerator doors open .let it remain unplugged for 24 hours. Then reconnect the power and check for some time.If the unit works properly that means defrost procedure solved the problem. But if same error light comes On flashing that means the faulty part needs replacement.
You can get required parts for your refrigerator from the on-line sites like :--
www.partsselect.com.
Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Carrier Condensor Control Board Status Light

See page 33 here - http://www.docs.hvacpartners.com/idc/groups/public/documents/techlit/38-10sm.pdf

It lists a problem with freon level, mechanical issue with compressor or dirty coils. I would eleminate the easier items first by cleaning both coils, and then have someone get some test gages on the unit too make sure the compressor is ok.

Carrier hi wall split unit on light flashes 4 times ???

as i am a mechanic in sydney australia, i can honestly say that the chance of you getting help via carrier is very very slim... the reason it is doing that is that it has a legitimate problem unfortunately i have a carrier 42g250h which is flashing 4 times aswell... i have been waiting now 10 working days for carrier to call me to tell me what the problem is... if you can afford to do it, throw the damn thing out and buy a new one, i hate to say it but even an LG will work better than these heaps of ****

Furnace not working. ok light flashing

The flashing light indicates that there is a problem. Turn off the power and then back on. Count the flashes and it will indicate the code to the problem. There will be a time pause between the flash codes. The most common problem is the failure of the hot surface igniter .

Carrier 40MVC A/C Flahing LED

there is problem with the unit. the 2 flash codes indicates a problem.

i am just not sure what it is.

it could be a low voltage alarm,
a high voltage alarm
freezing evaporator alarm.
not cooling alarm.

reset it by un pluging the unit for 1 minute then plug it back and run it. observe if the compressor would start.
if it start, check if it is cooling,

if it starts to cool, check the coil of the evaporator if it is freezing..

you could trace from there what is wrong with the unit.

pls keep me posted..

kindly use the ask me button,

tnx 4 using fixya,
