Lp2844 sound is coming from printer while printing

You may have a problem with the active protocol in the printer.
Check if it is epl or zpl

Welcome to the club. Been fighting this for almost a year. There is now a driver for vista available from Zebra to fix. I can now print 1 label from quick books. to print a second i have to restart computer and quick books. still searching for the answer.

Same here... Can't be the printer - has to be something with either the paypal software or the driver since my 'SAMPLE' prints solid as well. Did you ever find a solution?

Please be aware that zebra Lp2844Z is different with LP2844.

please make sure the programming language is correct

Added ''3 of 9' font to C:/Windows/Fonts.
Opened Word document, selected 3 of 9 as Font and typed a word.

Went back to printer and it printer the accession number and barcode.

possibly not a real LP2844 but an LP2543, a printer mass produced for and used by UPS. refurbishers change the label and sell as LP2844 because they are almost identical.
if it has an AC-AC adapter, it is an LP2543. LP2844 uses a AC-DC adapter, and all LP2844's have USB ports.

Sounds like you might be using a bad driver, or the printer is in dump mode.
Try hitting the green button and see if it says exiting dump.
If still having trouble, inside the printer it tells you that if you are having printing trouble:

1. turn off the printer
   
2. Hold down the feed button
   
3. turn on the printer and at the third red flash release the feed button
   
4. it will then feed some pagessome info and ask you to hit feed again to exit dump
   
5. hit feed again and it will say exiting dump
   

This process re-reads the label length (so only do it with the labels you want to use in, or it will waste labels until you do it again with those in it) - but I'm suggesting it only because it enters and exits dump mode (which I have read can cause the garbage when you try to print).

I posted this problem last week and since that time discovered the problem (at least for me). I had to replace the HD and failed to update a current version of Java. Without Java in place I could call for it to print but the print job would disappear into thin air. After installing a current version of Java the machine began printing again and has worked perfectly.

What kind of printing job are you trying to do?
