Question about LG LRBC22544 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Open Question

The water tank in my LG LRBC22544 refrigerator is leaking (apparently a common problem). I have a new tank assembly but can't find instructions on how to replace it (I'm now sure how the tubes connect).

Problem is solved. After taking a close look at the new tank assembly it was not hard to figure out how the tube connected to the tank. Just had to pull the black (or blue) retainer clips out so that the retainer can be pushed in, then the tube easily pulls out. Done in about 3 minutes.

SOURCE: Problem with water flow in LG LRBC22544 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Sounds like you have excess pressure building up in the water system. Is the water dispensor working? If not it sounds like you have a frozen line somewhere or the valve in the door is not working to allow the water to dispence.

the water fill tube for i/m is on the back of ref. the tube you have is to the water dispenser. look in freezer floor, is it full of ice? if so, remove all ice and clear drain hole for evap. if not, reassemble what you took apart and inspect tube under ref. while someone runs water dispenser. find leak and repair.

SOURCE: I have an LG fridge

I have had the same problem. In my case, its the little water tank behind the left crisper. The tank has cracked (twice now) which means replacement (again). The water leakage gets so bad that it leaks into the freezer causing ice up problems in the rear.

Don't forget that your dual water control valve has two sides. One side is for the ice maker and other side is for water dispenser. The water dispenser side may have recently failed causing water to not enter water filter area or dispenser, Thanks Sea Breeze

Hi this is your water tank leaking due to it freezing from too low of temperatures, this particular model, had problems with damper assembly leaking, you will need to change out the water tank, but before you do that you need to fix the temperature problem, which requires adjusting or replacing the damper assembly in the back of the refrigerator at the bottom, You can install a bigger gasket or the new damper comes with one. If you need futher assistance let me know.

Sounds like the FF(Freezer Fan) is wearing out or is worn out. This assembly supplies the circulation for the freezer as well as the refrigerator. When is slows down or stops the circulation of cold air to the refrigerator is the first thing that is effected. The minimum cost to replace this assembly is around $300.00

Kiwy, your part number for this reservour is 4838jj1003a. Since they had a lot of problems with this tank they replaced it with coiled plastic tubing. You can find the replacement part at repairclinic.com, it will show you a picture of it. Or you can go down to your local hardware store, buy some 1/4 inch plastic tubing for water and 2 quarter inch John guest fittings to hook it up. That's all it is now, is coiled plastic tubing to chill the water. Catriver.
