Turn your camera off. Open the memory card access door and remove the memory card. If it is like the SD and XD cards or IS one of those, check along one edge of the card and there should be a tiny (usually white in color) slide switch. Make sure that this switch is in the "unlocked" position and replace it back into the camera and try it. Sometimes the switch moves as you take it in and out. Off brand cards have loose switches that can move just by handling the camera. I had to jam one of mine into the unlocked position with a tiny piece of thick paper stuck into the switch slot. Be careful when putting the card back into the camera that you don't catch the switch on the camera slot and move it back into locked mode. If this has helped, please rate it accordingly. Thanks and good luck.

Is the day of the week in the middle of dau or night or at the beginning it on the GE vacation timer?

Vacation timers turn lights on-and-off at random times.

Timer dial rotates clockwise. Notice small arrows on timer dial located below each day letter.
Each day starts at the letter.
When the time-now pointer is at W, then wednesday starts.
For example W is wednesday. And th is thursday. The hours that show between W and th are wednesday hours.

Open following image. The time now pointer is pointed at 4:00pm Wednesday.
The blue letters with white background are AM, and white letters with blue background are PM.
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/GE%2050462%207-Day%20Random%20Vacation%20Timer.jpg

To set current time, rotate dial clockwise until current time lines up with time-now pointer.
Time-now pointer is stationary.

My color keeps going in and out , sometimes its red and sometimes its blue, what could be causing this problem

You are describing one of two types of problems:

1. Red and blue lines around objects and lettering.

2. Background of picture turns reddish or blue (a black and white image will tell you if this is the case.)

Both are fixable but number two should require less than 15 minutes and no parts.

Number one is different: Which best describes your issue?

Exposure meters are designed on the premise that the scene is an average, middle gray, in brightness. If you take a picture of a white dog playing in the snow, the camera will try to make the picture come out middle gray (a gray dog playing in gray snow). If you take a picture of a black cat sitting on black asphalt, the camera will try to make the picture come out middle gray (a gray cat sitting on gray ground).

If the white background is dominating the scene, the camera will reduce exposure to try to make the entire scene come out middle gray. The solution is to meter on something else. Move in close and fill the frame with the subject, press the AE-LOCK button, then move back, compose the picture, and take the shot. For full details, refer to the "Shooting with the exposure locked --- AE-LOCK" section in the manual (page 52 in my copy).

If you're taking a lot of pictures, you might want to switch to Manual mode and set the exposure accordingly.

When I turn the camera o a red stripe with white

Some cards have a lock tab on them. Make sure it is not in the lock position. If no go then take the card to a photo place and see if they can read it and download your photos. If that does not work then you can reformat the card (you will lose your photos). If you still are experiencing problems, try another card. If that does not work then it's off to the warranty repair or time to get a new camera. Repairs on these are only worth it if they are free or really cheap.
