Question about Belkin (F5D8231-4) Wireless Router (F5D82314)
I am trying to hook up another computer to my wireless router but can't figure out how to do it. I am looking for the password key page so I can enter it on this computer #2 but can't get to that screen. Thank you!
this is the general support page for your router. Look into the "How to" section under "Configuring Wireless Security" - it has a pretty good write-up on how to do it.
You access the router’s Web-Based User interface by typing “192.168.2.1” in the URL bar of your web browser (do not type in anything else such as “http://” or “www”). Then press the “Enter” key.
The router ships by default with no password. In the login screen, leave the password blank and click the “Submit” button to log in, but I hope you have changed that and setup a password...;-)
For details look into the manual (if you don't have one, get it here). On page 24 you see a screenshot of the router's main page. Look for the "Security" link under "Wireless" in the left pane.
Page 45-52 of the manual explains the setup in detail and also has screenshots from the setup page.
I personally can only advise not to use WEP but WPA (ideally WPA2) for security reasons. Some XP clients need to have Service Pack 2 (Win XP SP2) installed in order to handle the encryption process.
Don't forget to choose a strong password. The way I do it is to create a strong (!) passphrase like "V0y6Mmb90y...", copy it into a text document (use notepad), and save it on a USB stick. From there you can copy it to the other computer(s) into the "Network key required" field, when Windows (or Mac) asks for the network key.
No typos = no headaches.
If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Well first if its close connect the ethernet cable to the new pc and the router if its farther away use a wireless adapter they sell them at radioshack for $79.99 then on the 1st computer go to the routers code in the address bar and if you have changed your password from the default type it in, if not it should be Admin pass: admin then go to security settings and look for the acess panel. type in the new computers ip adress and select allow. that should work. hope this helps
