Question about Sanyo Vizon LCD-15A2 Television
With fair certainty, this is a problem with the main power supply.
If no longer under warranty, pull the AC plug overnight to allow stored voltages to discharge before opening the set.
The power supply board is normally separate, visibly related to the AC coming in and has larger parts such as capacitors (cylindrical cases) and block-shaped parts (chokes and transformers). You can probably replace this board yourself but you need to call Sanyo/Vizon to learn whether you can get yours repaired or if you must buy a new one. If you have to buy one, don't toss the failed board since there are independent companies that can repair them for a few dollars less than the cost of a new one. It doesn't hurt to have a spare, these aren't your dad's TVs and are not lasting as long as our previous sets.
