How do you change waste ink tank

There is no tank, just absorbent pads under the print engine. Each set is cut for each specific printer. After changing you have to enter service mode to reset the counter.

IP3000

canon ip3000 & ip4000 the heads get dirty.
if you keep doing cleanings and deep cleanings it will eventually cause an error because it thinks the tank is full.
take out the head - in the sink, with warm not hot water rinse out much ink as possible. then use windex, the ammonia removes the ink. flush good - shake out head, drops will form on the bottom. keep doing it until drops are clear. rinse with water. shake out well. dry contacts.
I use a water pic as a pressure washer to force water thru. replace head and tanks.
do not use clean, instead print a page of 'X's
make every 5 rows a different color. this way you can see what is working and it won't fill up the cleaning tank, causing a code error.
you can use any ink you want as long as it is the proper type- don't have to be canon

Ip3000 every time i dont use my printer for a few days the colours go funny

Hello Dear,
Although ip3000 is a good printer, its the limitation of a inkjet that it should be used regularly, the problem you are facing is probably due to the consistancy of the ink that dries up in the print head differs from that which are in the ink tanks, the solution is that u should always turn off the printer from the pannel ON/OFF Switch first and then from the mains, by doing so the purge unit of the printer caps the Print Head nozzels and u will get good prints.

Printer not printing

Try a new tank, there are more and more people getting bad ink tanks. HOWEVER if it is a printer that has seperate heads you might have to change it.
