No water to ice maker

I checked the solonoid and it had power to it but only 2.2 volts. I don't know how much it requires but no water coming out. There is water at the door.

The voltage to the solenoid only comes on when the ice maker ask for water to refill. Unplug both sides and check the resistance in the 2 coils. They should show very close to the same. The ice maker has a thermostat inside to tell the water valve to come on if defective the voltage most times 120 volts will not get to the coil. Sea Breeze

Ice maker stopped making ice

Here is a check list to use to verify ice maker is good or bad or if something else is causing the problem.
1) Has the water filter been changed recently, or does it need to be changed? The filter being old can cause a reduction on water and lower performance of anything else that requires water.
2) Check the temperature in the freezer. Even though things are frozen in there, the ice maker requires that the temperature be at least 10 degrees F to even cycle. Ideal would be around the 0 degree mark.
3) Check the fill tube where water comes into the ice maker. From time to time this will get blocked due to water freezing in the tube itself.
********* If the first three checks all pass, either the water valve is bad and not allowing water to come to the ice maker, or the ice maker itself is not calling for water **********
Depending on the age of the machine it might not be a bad idea to change the water valve and the ice maker together.

Ice macker will not make ice have water going to I havewater I front door but no water in ice tray

The water supply valve is a dual one with separate solenoids for ice and water. I bet your water supply valve is shot. themobilian_2698.jpg

We have a Whirlpool refrigerator model ET1MTKXKQ07. We have recently had a problem with water pooling inside the refrigerator. We know that the drain line must be stopped up, because there isn't anything...

There is no drain line as the only water that goes into the refrigerator is the water that goes into the ice maker. The out side water only goes into a glass or spilled on the floor.

I suspect that your inlet water solonoid is not reseating properly after the ice maker signals it to close. It opens by an electro magnet and closes by spring pressure. You may have to have it replaced. The ice maker rotats and hits a micro switch that sends power to the solonoid that snaps it open and is held as long as the switch is depressed. when the cam on the rotating vane passes the micro switch lever, the switch goes back to normal taking the power off of the solonoid, and spring pressure snaps it back in the closed position. This cam is timed to just fill up your ice tray.

I have connected the water to the refridgerator and have water flowing properly from the door. However, the ice maker does not fill with water. What am I missing?

Suggest you do a good defrost, then retry. Also take note if the opposite solonoid to the water solonoid for the fridge activates. (will be found at the back of the fridge). When the ice maker requires water, it will activate the one valve at the back.

Trace back and see if water is waiting to come into icemaker. If not, suggest you check the 2 valves at the back. one is for the water dispenser and the other is for the icemaker. Possibly the solonoid is not functioning. If there is no water, the icemaker sensor sees no water and there is no action. Let me know.

Ice maker is not filling w water. water does come

The ice maker likely needs replaced however it could also be the fill valve. If you have the ability to locate the valve at the end of the fill hose (usually bottom right when looking at the back of the fridge) it will have 2 solonoids with electical connectors on them. Swap the connectors and press the water dispenser paddle. This should fill the icemaker. If it does, the valve is fine and the icemaker is bad.

Amana side by side ice maker will not fill with water

Old message, I'm sure you have solved your problem by now, but . . .
IF
Amana/Whirlpool conforms to wiring standards (no guarantees), the main AC wires should be white=neutral, black=hot, red=switched line.  Of course, they already depart with the use of the brown wire.
You should be able to access the 'full' switch at the ice maker itself and as you have found, it will turn on (or off) the fill solenoid.
It would be kind to post back what you found as it might benefit others in the future.
Thanks-
