It's happened to me too, it could be a loose screw thats meant to hold the dish steady, it could also be more serious and could require a new feedhorn or another part. Leave it be for a few weeks and if it gets worse call sky, if thats your provider, or price around for a local technician.

It is normal, to a degree. You get the worst break up on the HD channels from dish, if you are getting a lot of breakup on regular channels then you might want to have the dish re pointed

Television signals are at such high frequencoies they will be reflected form buildings and other objects, and attentuated by moisture in the air and through the leqaves of trees, etc. In large cities yourt TV singals can arrive from different paths Digital TV signals bounce as di the old "analog TV" signals but the technology allows the receiver to ignor singals that are out of phase so the picture is "clean" despite multipleversions of the signal arriving at the antenna at slightly different times. That said, if the signal is weak, there is little you can do other than experimanet with positioning the receivng antenna. Typically, building walls attentuate televisoin signals so locating the receving antenna close to a window often provides for stronger signal reception.

Amplified antennas cannot amplify what is not there. Moisture in the form of fog, rain and snow will attenuate television signals and if thre signals are marginal in good weather, they may be virtually not-existent in wet weather. Digital TV signals are threshold dependent. When they are toow eak, you won't see anything. Back in the old analog TV days, you could see a "snowy picture" but digital TV doesn't allow for that. The signal is either strong enough to be viewed or it is not.

You have few real options if you do not subscribe to cable or a satellite tv provider. Amplified antennas can help but if you need them you live in a marginal TV reception area to begin with and more prone to the vagaries of weather and the seasons.

No audio

Good day!!!!

Please try to play a DVD or any movies to your TV to determine weather the problem is on the TV itself or on the signal reception or on the digital cable box..

If the TV have audio when you play a DVD your TV is good..

Possible problems are:
1. loose wiring on antenna (coaxial)
2. digital cable fault contact your provider for immediate remedy
3. bad tuner.

Hope it helps..

I have the mitsubishi diamond screen tv, and the picture keeps cutting out and turning blue. After I turn off the unit and re start it, it works for a bit, then does the same thing again ?

Usually this is due to bad reception. If you are using a satellite dish it can be due to bad weather. Usually the picture will pixelize then turn to blue.

Hello.
I presume you are using satellite service. If your TV displays that message - this means that message is generated by your satellite box and TV is working just fine.
Most likely you have poor dish pointing or bad connection between dish and satellite box. Weather would be at the end of the list and it would not stay bad because of weather, it would go back to good picture/sound after thunderstorm is over.
Have satellite provider schedule an appointment and check installation. They charge you monthly fee for service and they have to provide it all way to your TV input jack. If installation was poor or cables are bad - it is not your responsibility but theirs.
Regards.
Russ.

Digital TV channels need good signals or they break up and vanish. Getting a high gain aerial, will help and will solve most problems. You can run up to 5 TV sets off some! The cable is perhaps the cause of the loss due to rain, it's perhaps the old brown type, with a copper wire and a a thin mess around it. If you have a good aerial you need good wire too so get the cable they use to connect satellite dishes.
It might cost a bit, but it's worth it.

XM radio reception issues

If you have the magnetic antenna, check it for a little nick on the cable on the outside of the car where water might get in to it. A little water can short the ground and the antenna wire. You also can wash (with lots of water around where the antenna cable is) and see if it happens again, then you will know it not just the weather

Lost signal from the satellite

Signal Fade And Loss ~ Important, especially during winter!

Keep in mind that satellite broadcasts occur directly from fixed satellites in space to users. UPLINKS TO that satellite can happen from almost anywhere in the world! This includes broadcasts from remote studios, satellite vans and trucks.

Even signals from the main providing studios are susceptible to weather conditons even tho they have huge, high-gain transmitting dishes!

Weather is a major factor for both the uplinks and downlinks! Storm clouds can block the signals anywhere in the signal path(s). Rain clouds do too ~ even if it's not raining yet. Water-laden clouds make some of the BEST signal attenuators.

So one may have a gorgeous day in San Diego (let's say), but storms back east could trash satellite reception at his location and potentially everywhere else!

As you know, weather conditions all over the US are changing constantly with many severe storms occurring this past week and during any winter. In fact this week there was total signal loss on several satellites and I suspect storms back east were a big factor.

So it could have just been issues of timing for you. The UPLINK had intermittent problems with signal paths semi-crippled by weather... YOUR weather was CLEAR, but your reception was far from problem free ~ only because of weather problems elsewhere.

If you see intermittent satellite reception do check out the weather... especially back east.

Hope this helps!

Lost Satellite reception

If its raining, that will cause you to lose satellite reception.

If that is not the problem, then do this: turn off TV & satellite. Wait 5 minutes. Power back on. Most of time this will fix it by itself.

If neither of those do it, unattach your satellite cable from back of satellite box. Power everything off. Wait 5 minutes. Now reattach your satellite cable. Power everything on. It should search for you sat and find it. Let me know if this works.

If none of those work, then I would call the sat company for help.
