Polarity for ac adapter of cordless phone

I need to know the polarity for the ac adapter for my vtech cordless phone model#LS6215-2. I tried a universal adapter with both negative and positive and both worked. How do I know which is right?

With a multimeter you have than put a end of the cable on the out side of the connector and the other on the outlet male
if you read 000. it´s ok, but if read 1. it does not correspond

I need a power adapter for telephone base for model 30524

Not a problem. Take the base unit with you to Radio Shack and they will get you a proper replacement. (The numbers on the plug in to the unit will say how many volts Direct Current are required to operate is properly and the tag underneath will also state how many milliWatts of power are required at that voltage.) The key is buying the proper plug in end that fits the socket. Radio Shack has units with several socket tips so you may select the proper one. Make sure the polarity of the socket plug you use matches the wire polarity... the stripe on one side of the power cord is the + side on the socket tip.

I have a VTECH 6.0 and I believe a lightning strike took out the telephone base power adapter and would like to purchase a replacement adapter.

Any generic adapter will work as long as is is the same voltage and rating on the wall adapter you have. It is a 6 volt 400MA adapter. Radio Shack has generic adapters. Also try your adapter in another wall socket and see if that works.

Hope this helps.

What does the pause button on my VTech cordless phone do?

Without knowing the model of your VTech phone I can't give you a definitive answer, but usually it inserts a pause when entered into memory along with a phone number.
If you need a manual for your phone, enter the model into the search box here.

I have a wireless phone from vtech, model No. CS6329-3. My cat chewed though the bases power cord. I need to find a replacement and I'm having trouble finding one.

I am not sure where you live, but if you have a Radio Shack or local electronics type store you might and should be able to find a Universal Replacement. Take the base with you to the store and make sure the AC power adapter fits and puts out the correct voltage. Hope this helps.

Hi, I lost my iView ac/dc adapter and need to buy a new one. Can you tell me the specifications about voltage, polarity and amperes?

the switch that I have is a 4 port, (http://www.cablegear.com/156752.html) and it uses a 9-volt, 400mA A/C adapter. I do know that this type of adapter can be found on most VTECH cordless phone cradles which also has the same size DC plug.

It should be labeled on the side of the phone. My best guess would be AC/DC...as to polarity, you would have to look at the drawing on the side by the jack...

Lost ac adapter

If you are trying to guess at an adapter, and plugging them in to see if they work, you run the risk of ruining your machine. With the blinking lights its not booting correctly, so I hope your not smelling smoke too. Nevertheless, you need a 9-12 dc output adapter (with I believe the negative on the inside). Your describing the input of 120V 60HZ, all of them say this since that is the power that is coming out of your wall socket. Look on the back of your machine at the connection and it will show you the polarity via a little diagram imprinted in the plastic(if the negative goes in the center or outside of the plug) This is the most important part, if it is backwards you will fry your machine, if you have not already.

Handset gets warm on charging stand

The handset and the AC adapter can become warm. This is normal operation on this unit. If it is too hot to touch, your unit is need of repair.
