Question about RCA TruFlat 27F520T 27" TV

1 Answer

One channel is suddently in B &W - All rest in color

This model RCA 27F520TYX1 was purchased 3/22/2006. I've had no problems with it. It is in our Master Bedroom and is hooked up to Brighthouse cable.

Yesterday - Channel 6 went Black & White. All other Channels are fine and in color. Only Channel 6 is affected. Other TV's in the house get Channel 6 in color! We've tried re-programming the remote - but to no avail. Nothing has been moved in or around the TV (it is high atop an armoire).

Does anyone have any ideas??

Powers on and off my itself. Changes channels by itself

i had the same problem. i opened the t.v. took out the circuit board to the buttons and broke off the little resistor things to all the buttons. JUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK THE ONES LEADING TO THE IR LIGHT. if you can find another button board thatd be a better fix. let me know if you do please. anyway put it back together and use the remote from now on and it wont turn itself off anymore. my guess is one of the buttons shorted out or something.

This set was made before it was required to have digital tuning built in. You would need a digital converter box if you want off-the-air reception. (The federal program at that is giving $40 coupons toward purchasing a converter is out of money right now and is only putting people on a waiting list. It also looks like the changeover to digital is going to be delayed again, so you might not need to worry about it for a while longer.)

You can purchase an RCA universal remote that will let you access the A-V inputs. These only cost about $10.00 or so. Stargazer

1996 RCA Color TV model G27720tn

If you are on cable, first run the cable wire from the wall directly to the TV, eliminating any cable box and/or VCR. If channel 2 is snowy but the rest (especially 3-6) are clear, it is most certainly a cable problem and not a TV problem. The TV uses the exact same circuits for channel 2 to 6 (VHF-LOW) so if the tuner was bad and 2 was snowy, 3, 4, 5 and 6 would be snowy too. Bring a second TV into that room, disconnect the cable wire from the RCA and connect it to the second TV. Is channel 2 on the second TV as snowy as it was on the RCA?
