Ok-I found a way -unplug printer, turn printer up side down.Locate the power supply screw push level and slide out carefully slow it will not go out all the way.Dont pull hard about half way or you may unplug wires.Theres a green wire on side of power supply in clamp.Slide wire in the hole next to ot slot you may have to use small screw driver..let it be on that pin for about a minute.Unplug put green wire back in holder.push power supply back in and put back screw.turn upright plug back in.Wala printer up and running again. It resets it self.
hope this helps you.It did me about 3 times.

My MP830 all in one ink jet printer is having problems...It says release the scanner lock switch and turn power off and back on. I have tried five times, I have unplugged it from the wall also leaving it...

Open the scanner cover so you can see the platen glass. Now look on the left side of the glass, and you should see a sliding switch, probably blue in color. Move the switch to the icon that shows an open padlock (unlocked position).

Greetings, I have a Cannon MP830 all in one printer . . . yesterday I set it to make two copies--I was low on ink, but as I always let it run until it is empty before replacing the ink, I hit OK to by-pass...

Double check to make sure all the cables are securely plugged in. There is also probably a switch in the back of the printer, usually by where you plug in the power, that you might want to check. otherwise, unplug it and plug it into another outlet just to make sure the outlet on the power strip isn't bad. You may also want to try completely unplugging it from both the wall and computer, and then just plugging the power back and then the computer if that helps.

Good luck, let me know if it still doesn't work,

I have a Canon MP830 and I cannot turn it on when I touch the on off switch nothing happens I have checked all the power sources and they are plugged in; any suggestions?

1. If your MP830 is plugged into a power surge / power strip, power off/on the strip.

2. Plug the MP830 directly into the outlet.

3. Disconnect the power cord and wait 5 minutes before connecting

4. Replace the MP830 printer power cord.

5. Have the MP830 serviced.

Hope this helps.

Suddenly stopped scanning and now won't copy or print b/c keeps saying it's still scanning. Canon mp830. Scanning Wizard starts but just dies in the middle. Any button I'm not hitting or solution you can...

Any lightning strikes locally?
You can try to reset back to factory by removing cartridges and head.Power off unit ,then unplug for 45 minutes.repower and install all.
Do a nozzle check and see what happens.

It will not turn

Try leaving it unplugged for 1 hour plug it back into a different wall outlet and the power supply should then come back to life. If not take it to a canon service center.

System turns on however hard drive will not cycle nor will mouse or key board activate

Turn power off and unplug power from computer.
Unplug printers,backup drives and speakers.
Open case and unplug power supply from the board.
plug power cord back in press the power button.
Of course nothing will happen.
unplug power cord again.
plug power supply back into the board.
plug power cord backup and press power switch.
If nothing happens unplug power cord again.
pull out your memory sticks and plug cord back in and press power button.
Of course not much will happen.
But really something is happening to your computer so continue.
Pull power cord and replace memory sticks.
replace power cord and press power switch.
Continue this pulling out pci cards one at a time until you find out what the problem might be.
Try different keyboards and mice too.
Good Luck
