Depending on the model, you probably only have 2 ink cartridges. one for BLACK and one is a tr-color (Cyan-Yellow-Magenta). That is if Lexmark is still shipping cartridges with their printers. They are probably only "starter" cartridges with limited ink in them. Is your Lexmark printer utilities telling you that a cartridge is missing? Did you remove the protective tapes off the cartridge heads before installing them? Try reinstalling the cartridges again and when the utilities screen pops up, tell it the cartridge has already been used, or try telling it that they are new. If this printer is new to you but is OLD stock, it may have been sitting for quite some time and the ink is dried up. Cartridges really only contain a relatively small amount of ink in a saturated sponge and they do dry up. If you want, and the printer is older, get some lab swabs (longer than a Q-Tip with cotton at one end only). Ask a pharmacy clerk if they have any. Moisten with alcohol and try cleaning the place where the cartridge seats into the carrier. I don't remember if Lexmark print heads are in the cartridge itself, or separate in the carrier. Worst case is make sure the drivers you are using for the printer are matched to the operating system you are using. Unplug the printer, uninstall the Lexmark drivers, reinstall the correct drivers, plug the USB back into the printer and start over. Printer and printer DRIVER problems seem to be the worst. If any of this helps, please rate it accordingly. Thanks and good luck.

How to change cartridge on Lexmark 2600 All in One Printer. How does the cartridge come in view so I can change it.

1. Make sure the All-In-One is on. 2. Lift the scanner unit until the scanner support keeps it open. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the All-In-One is busy.

3. Press down on the cartridge carrier levers. 4. Remove the old cartridges. 5. If you are installing new cartridges, remove the stickers and transparent tape from the bottom of the cartridges. 6. Insert the new cartridges. Make sure the black print cartridge is secure in the left carrier and the color cartridge is secure in the right carrier, and then close the carrier lid. 7. Lift the scanner unit and push the scanner support back while lowering the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer. Remove the used cartridges. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to the power source.
I hope this information has been helpful. Thanks.

How to replace ink cartridge

Changed black ink and get error #1203

Anytime your All-In-One has a problem, make sure:
• Your All-In-One is on.
• The scanner is unlocked.
• You removed the stickers, transparent tape, and foam from the bottom of the print cartridges. For help, see page 39.
• The paper is loaded correctly.
• You installed both of the print cartridges. The Lexmark X5100 Series will only work if you have both cartridges installed. For help installing the cartridges, see page 38 in your manual.

Lexmark x7350 all-in-one printer says "missing cartridge" even though the color cartridge is not missing. i have tried wiping off the strip on the cartridge and turn off..waiting.. and turning the printer...

Exchange the cartridge for another new Lexmark cartridge. I think Lexmark printers have gotten so finicky about kicking out refills that they sometimes reject original cartridges. I own a cartridge refilling store and I've had a couple original Lexmark cartridges returned because the printers didn't recognize them.

Tells me ink cartridges are empty, even after putting new ones in. please help

Hello there,
In this case you need to please remove the new cartridges and place the old one in back and check if they are getting detected then it clearly shows that the problem is with the new cartridges. If the same persists with the old one then try ckeaning the circuit portion which is on the cartridge and the printer. and then check for the same else carrier stall needs to be replaced. Thanks and all the best

We have an ink refill from Cartridge World for an unused Lexmark X2690. Even though the ink cartridge is full, the computer tells us it is empty. It will not even send paper through the printer to...

I own a Cartridge World store and I tell our customers when they purchase this refill that I cannot test the electronics on the cartridge to ensure that it will work. I tell them if they take it home and it doesn't work I will give them a full refund. You need to go back to the store your purchased this cartridge from and request your money back. Unfortunately you have purchased a printer that takes cartridges that our test printer cannot test the electronics or print test.

My Lexmark z22 printer will not print corretly

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Poor and inconsistent quality from the black ink.

the problem seems to be un-even distribution of ink. try a different and new ink cartridge. Since you are refilling the cartridge, the ink inside of the cartridge is getting magnetized, there by, the ink stick to the drum of the cartridge and don't distribute the ink evenly. shake would clear it. you need to demagnetized the drum.
