Question about Frigidaire FEX831CS Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer
My (washer/dryer, stacked) washing machine fills with water but won't start cycle. It's intermittent. Sometimes it will start right away and sometimes it will sit with the clothes and water in it for hours and then it will start.
I will change the cycles (whites to colors), the wash time (4, 8, 12), i will stop and start the cycle or i will turn the tumbler (the thing that sits in the washing machine...and nothing works. please advise.
I bet it's the electronic card of the machine in both cases. If you are handy, you can dismount it and try to find some broken/burned component or something strange. I'd go for a broken capacitor, but it may not be at sight. You'll have to check them all with a proper tool (generally, a home tester is not useful for capacitors).

I will answer this in two parts.
1. Sounds like a worn lid switch. Some Units will not start if this switch is worn/faulty. This can cause intermittent switch contact.
2. The motor thermal switch is a definite possibility. This switch is part of the motor assembly and cannot be replaced by itself.
