Question about KitchenAid KEHC309 Electric Double Oven
The glass cover does come off. Use some latex gloves or non skid material and grasp the lens firmly and turn counter clockwise.

Testimonial: "Spot on - I actually used insulating tape and water pump pliers- but I needed to know it would be ok."
It is possible that the glass cover holds in its socket more than the socket in the oven. In my oven I had first to fixate the socket -- by orienting it and pushing in the right direction -- and only then I could unscrew the cover by applying force.
If I tried to unscrew it directly, I would probably just break the socket. My oven is FPP502/1X, though.
