Gainward TV2GO TV capture installation fail

Trying to install Gainward TV2GO TV capture software on an HP Mini running XP SP3. Installshield Setup almost immediately fails, telling me I need to upgrade to SP1. Anyway to override this, or make programs in general (temporarily) think I only have SP1? Thanks!

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Hello, I try to instal Windows XP Pro SP3 on a Compaq Mini 102 but Windows installation don't found the Hard drive. Display : Windows XP Professional Setup ============================ Setup has...

we can not guess how you did this.
Microsoft CD/dVd install media, ?
HP CD install media from HP
home made media,???? dont
or F11 key restore.
so how can we guess that, ?and MATTERS BIG TIME.

didn't find ,past tense.
first off , not all PCs are the same.
did you go TO BIOS and run the HDD test first? page 73 below.
after the HDD can BAD , so we do that first.
if that fails it is bad, for sure.!!! buy a new SSD and install that?

then boot and (power button) and press F11 as the service guide tell you, see link at end.
F11 reloads the OS. page 92

F11 is only works if:
1: HDD GOOD
2: Someone did not install Microsoft OS and kill the HP restore partitions.
3: XP virus didnt wreck that partition or someone did foolishly.

if F11 is dead, then only HP install disk work. real.
that means all HP software like new still all works like day 1.
if all you need is email, then other solutions are available.
first google hit btw... in 1 second flat.....

XP is a dead OS for 3 years, getting help is not easy, due to that.
why not reload, the OS, fresh (F11 key), i bet its infected with viruses., as most XP system all are.
the HP manuals tell you how to use that, my guess lost.

the usage factors dictate what software one uses.

Error 1607 unable to install InstallShield

how you fix it

Reinstall the InstallScript engine loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); To reinstall the InstallScript engine from InstallShield Developer, follow these steps:
  1. Download the ISScript7.zip file. To do this, visit the following InstallShield Web site: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322 (http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322)
  2. Extract the ISScript7.zip file.
  3. Double-click the ISScript.msi file.
Running Setup from a virtual drive loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); If you are running the Setup program from a virtual drive created by using the SUBST command, you can delete the virtual drive and instead run the Setup program from the physical hard disk. To delete the virtual drive, click Start, click Run, type subst drive_letter: /d, and then click OK.

good luck

Software for HP KQ245AA webcam will not upload with Windows XP Pro and SP3. Works fine with Vista but not my XP laptop even when I run setup.exe nothing opens or uploads. What Can I do?

As an update to the posted problem, I have got the camera software loaded by opening the disc contents and then opening folders and clicking on individual setup arrows. This after the auto setup for the disc, repeatedly failed to work with the XP home SP3.

As this is only a partial success and not the way it all should have installed, I am now talking to HP about the issue.
Yes the camera now works on my XP operated laptop, but not all the arcsoft and HP add ons work yet. Watch this space.

I have a tv2go for xp now my lap is vista do you have adriver for it

I have poked around at all my sources and unless you have a post Vista product, you will not be able to get a driver for this.

I recommend ebaying that one, and purchasing an updated model,,,
OR
Rolling back your OS to XP,

Easier to sell the old one and get a new one.

SP33867 is not installing on windows XP sp3

Windows Error 0×80040707 - Caused by InstallShield and Windows SP2 DEP
Posted Service Packs & Hotfixes, Software - Third Party Programs, Windows Desktop Fixes on Saturday, March 11th, 2006.
From Windows 95 to Windows XP & Vista the “Unhandled Exception 0×80040707′ error message, pictured below, typically occurs during the installation or update of PC software. The error code is typically associated with the installation program InstallShield, which software vendors wrap around their own software packages so they can install to Windows without interferring with existing software. The error was typically associated with the paths to Shell folders in Windows (ie: the Desktop, Programs, and Startup Menu folders in a user’s or the “All Users” profiles) - there is a detailed description of changing or recreating these paths at InstallShield’s site.
The 0×80040707 error code has become more common recently, as the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) controls (screenshot link) installed by Windows XP SP2 also interfere with InstallShield’s operations and can block its access to the Windows shell folders mentioned earlier. If your shell folder paths are all correct, the likely culprit of the error is Windows’ DEP and these steps should resolve the issue:

Find the primary installation file for the program you were installing. If it’s not a single-file installer it’s usually “setup.exe” on a CD, but you can either check the AUTORUN.INF file to see what program it’s calling or dig through the folders on the CD (/bin/, /eng/, and /driver/ are common folders where the true installer program is nested when the setup.exe is just a fancy GUI program).
Right-click the installation program and select “Run As…”. If it doesn’t show up the then file may not be an executable > start over at step #1 and look for other files.
Uncheck the “Protect My Computer And Data From Unauthorized Activity” box, this deactivates DEP for this executable and its child processes, and click the “OK” button.

if you are using windows vista use the following above link to download the new driver.

1) Please install the Disney Pix 2 software and the Disney Pix Micro Downloader to your computer via the software CD that came with the Disney Pix Micro
2) Please double-click on the "Setup" to begin the install of the Pix Micro drivers. The User Account Control will appear warning you that a program is trying to run. Please click "Allow".
3) Complete the install of the driver by following the prompts.
4) After the install completes, you are prompted to restart the computer. Please select "Restart now" and then click "Finish".
5) You can now delete the Setup program from your computer
6) Connect your Disney Pix Micro to the computer and wait for the device to install.
7) Double-Click on the Downloader shortcut to open the downloader
Now the Pix Micro Downloader is open with the correct privileges and the Pix Micro camera is connected. If you click the "Download" button. A dialog box appears saying "Pixel Up".
Please click the "OK" button and the download will complete successfully. The images can even be deleted via the downloader after the images are downloaded. Although, every time you open the downloader, you must run it as an administrator and every time you download, the "Pixel Up" box will appear.

If you are having a problem installing a product that uses InstallShield as their installation tool, and the steps below do not resolve your issue, you will need to contact the vendor of the software, as we cannot provide further support. Your vendor, who used InstallShield as an installation tool, created the product that you are trying to install. It is very likely that the error you are getting is related to how the vendor used our product and only the vendor would know which InstallShield product they used, which version and how they programmed it. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Detect Version
Different troubleshooting steps are necessary for different version of InstallShield. To check the version of InstallShield Professional that was used to create the setup, take the following steps:

1.Right-click on the setup.exe
2.Select "Properties".
3.In the Properties dialog, select the tab labeled "Version".
4.Near the top there will be a filed labeled "File Version". The number specified here will tell you approximately what version of InstallShield was used to create this install.

InstallShield 5.x and 3.x
If the version of InstallShield is less than 6.00, see article Q100198, HOWTO: Eliminating General Setup Initialization Errors.

InstallShield 6.x
If the version is 6.00 or greater, continue with the following steps.

Setup initialization errors can be caused by a number of factors. This is a non-exhaustive list of possible resolutions:

1.Insufficient permissions on the machine. If you are using a Windows NT or a Windows 2000 machine, you need to have administrative permissions to run an InstallShield Professional 6.x setup. Make sure you have the correct permissions.

2.If you just ran an InstallShield setup, the engine takes a few seconds at the end of the installation to clean up. During this time Ikernel.exe (the engine file) is running in memory from a previous process. That is why you are not allowed to launch another setup. Waiting a few seconds and running the setup again should resolve this.

3.Check and make sure Ikernel.exe is not in memory. If it is, and no setup is running at the time, end that task and restart the system.

4.Clean out the Temp directory.

5.Delete the Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine folder and then rerun the setup.

6.Reinstalling Internet Explorer (IE) 5.x can also repair a number of corrupted/missing core Windows files from your machine, so reinstalling IE 5.x and the NT service pack is also suggested.

7.Another possibility is that you do not have sufficient COM permissions. For information on how to troubleshoot this, see article Q104986, INFO: Initialization Error Troubleshooting.

8.The other potential cause is a missing Stdole.tlb file. This is a core Windows file and should exist on your machine. Make sure that if you get this file from another machine, the machine is running the same operation system as the machine you are trying to run the setup on.

9.If you are trying to install to a Windows 98 machine, download and run Dcom98.exe from the following site: http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/download.asp.

10.Make sure that you are using the latest version of the InstallShield engine. To install the latest engine see article Q105097, INFO: Install the Latest Version of Ikernel.exe
