Take everything out. Chords, games, and jumper/expansion pak.
Turn it on for 10 seconds.
Turn it off.
Blow into the game cartridge and the cartridge slot.
Plug everything back in except for power.
Turn on for 10 seconds.
Turn off.
Plug power in.
It should work now.

I couldn't get my N64 to boot. My father told me to try an old technician trick. clean the contacts with an eraser. Some games took a little bit more time to clean, but EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY.

DO NOT take out the jumper/expansion pak this is not recommended by nintendo it may cause more problems like elon_tl said unplug everything but dont take out the jumper/expansion pak and wait 30 minutes to an hour then blow into the hookup tips then plug it back in if this doesnt work blow into the cartridge but if the red light on the system doesnt come on your system will not work at all you can get a new one on amazon.com or e-bay.com

How do you erase memory from the memory pak

  • Plug an N64 controller into the "Player 1" port on the Nintendo 64.
  • 2 Place the N64 Controller Pack into the memory card slot on the Nintendo 64 controller.
  • 3 Insert a Nintendo 64 game into the cartridge slot on the N64.
  • 4 Hold down "Start" on the N64 controller.
  • 5 Turn the Nintendo 64 on via the "Power" switch on the device. After the console loads, the Controller Pack menu will appear on the screen.
  • 6 Release the "Start" button on the N64 controller.
  • 7 Browse through the saves listed, using the N64 controller's directional pad.
  • 8 Highlight the game you want to erase.
  • 9 Select the "Delete" option. The pages that were occupied by the game save will be erased from the Controller Pack.
  • 10 Repeat Steps 7 though 9 until you're finished erasing pages on the Controller Pak. Restart the N64 if you wish to play the game that was inserted into the device, or turn the Nintendo 64 off if you are done using the console.

Cant get nintendo 64 hooked up to flat screen

Wow, the classic Nintendo 64. That was my first gaming system. I do know that the 64 has default RCA cords (Red, Yellow, White). They are required to be inputed into your TV. Make sure the 64 is plugged into a power source and that it turns on. Make sure that your game actually works. Clean out your 64 by using a can of compressed air, do the same to your game.

Finally try to start it up.

If I helped in any way please rate me and help me out.

    Thanks,

Nintendo 64 will not turn on

64's as they get older and with most gaming consoles the connections get worn. The power supply is junk on those! It's a cube that has to fit just right into the slot to make a solid connection. Here's a possible solution.

1.Turn off your 64 and pull out the power supply cube blow on it and in the space where it was.

2.Take the game out blow on it.

    3. When you put the game in push it down a little harder than normal "not very hard dont break it" but securing the connection this way.Do the same with the power supply.

Make sure you have the Nintendo 64 plugged in.  Be sure that the cables coming from the back of the console are in good condition. i.e. No tears or visible wires
