SOURCE: Panasonic PT-60LCX64 Air Filter Cleaning

Cleaning filter for the Panansonic PT-501LCX64.

I just had a T.V. tech do this. The filters are located on the two removable filters on the back side of the T.V. They look like the speaker units. He removed those two units, unplugged them & set them on the floor. He took some type of electronic cleaner with a cloth & wiped them down. The filters themselves are plastic. He explained that air flows through some tube connected to these plastic filters for cooling down below. He admitted they didn't look dirty--put everything back together & it is working fine now.

I imagine that dirty or not the timer is automatically set for every 400 hrs. of use to give you the prompt that the filter needs cleaning & will shut off in one minute so you can call a T.V. tech?

So to reset the timer--follow the other detailed prompts listed on this board & or use your owners manual & follow the prompts for replacing the bulb. That should take you somewhere to reset the timer--so you have another 400 hours of operation.

I believe it's with the T.V. turned off--hold down the down volume on your tv itself while holding the swap button on the remote control for 5-7 seconds---then follow the prompts. You should see a prompt for replacing a bulb & then one for filter cleaning. Then just reset the timer.

Hopefully this will help?

Sounds like an internal power issue. Usually a red blinking light is a fatal error, such as bulb or capacitor.

The air filter is deep inside the set. You need to dismantle the unit and get the light engine out. I would highly recommend calling an authorized service center to do this for you.

But if you insist, email me at XPxAxBxLxOX@comcast.net and I will bounce back the service manual for you.

A message keeps popping up saying I need to clean the air filter then the tv shuts off on it's own. It's a panasonic 60 inch projection

there is a louvered air intake panel on either lower side of tv. there is 1 or 2 screws the filter is right behind that panel.. take it out and clean it with warm dishsoapy water and pat dry on a flat surface with paper towels then reinstall. your th will not come on till the panel is screwed back into place. there is a microswitch type sensor that makes sure that the screws are in place...goodday

How do i access the lamp on a panasonic pt-60lcx64?

Pull the front panel off and you will see a srew on the left side. Remove that screw and a smaller cover will come off. Then remove the srew that behind the small cover and then you can pull the lamp assembly out.
