If you call Dell with the service tag and have proof of ownership, meaning that your name is on the laptop, then they can give you the password since there is no common password. Otherwise if Dell can't help you, then you can try a different method which will take a little work since removing the battery won't erase the password on a laptop. Please see the following website link for the second method and let me know how this all turns out for you.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Dell latitude D600-- My repair person

First of all the BIOS is Read-Only and resetting itself would mean that you lost all backup power to the computer. Typically you need to take the computer to a repair shop to get the BIOS reset if it has been password protected.

Lost Windows password:

  • Login as Administrator. Try with no password (load safe mode if you don't see Administrator). Press F8 during boot to access Safe Mode.
  • Login as other user (if other user is available) and manage users. Must be an administrator.
  • Reformat computer.
  • Use 3rd party software to remove password. Like http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html

Dont remember administrator password dell latitud d600

Don't worry while you lost administrator passwords. I know actually quite a simple method to recover windows logon password, it need no computer skills and no reinstalling windows. Search Windows Password Seeker or http://www.passwordseeker.com. Maybe this could help. Best of luck!

Need info on bios password reset

If your laptop is under warranty, you can call dell, provide them with some information, and they can give you the master password for your laptop (provided you are the current owner, and obtained it legally). There is no universal master password for every computer, but there is a individual one for each individual computer. If your computer is not under warranty, however, they will charge you. I have heard it can be anywhere from $75 to $150 USD. You can also try to bypass it by updating/upgrading your bios (using a bios flash utility).

Bought a Dell Laptop and am locked out How can I restore or reset

If you have forgotten your BIOS or Hard Drive Password for this model, there is a master code that you can obtain from Dell Support. Simply call, Email, or use Online Chat from http://support.dell.com and give them your Service Tag, and they can help you out from there. If it is a Windows profile password you have forgotton, try accessing the Administrator account from Safe Mode (Press F8 at startup), and remove the password for the user account from Control Panel, User Accounts.
