American Standard Easy Touch 6310 kitchen faucet leaks at base

I called American Standard and was sent an internal body & seal to fix the problem. They said there would be instructions and it was an easy fix. No instructions. I removed the handle, escutcheon cap, and cartridge, but I can't get the body out in order to replace the internal body & seal. The 6310 is a one handle with pullout spout. When I sent AS an email requesting instructions, their "contact us by email" redirected me to Faucets Direct! FD told me to contact AS. I hope someone can help me.

if you are having trouble removing the set screw make sure you are using the correct size allen wrench and confirm that it is a allen screw and not a trox screw. After doing this try tighten the screw slightly before loosening it. This should break it loose.

hi! if tightening the knob(s), (or if you apply pressure on the knob of the faucet, for the models with no thread for open/close), modify the amount of water leaking ,you need to replace the seats in the faucet. if not ,just replacing the o rings should fix your problem.

I have an american standard pullout disc faucet which is leaking. I replaced the disk. Now it is leaking more than befoe from the base. What should I do? Is it the o seal at the bottom? chuck

Chuck,
Definitely change the O ring, and ensure the disc is installed properly, as well as ensure there is no debris on the disc. It sounds like the O ring was torn during the first procedure. Good Luck.

We are getting a metallic taste and smell

The metalic taste is coming from the the new faucet

I would call American Standard and ask them if they have any complaints for this particular model

I would run hot water through the faucet for 5 minute intervals

If it persists I would take it back and demand a refund or cal AS and demand a refund or replacement model

I am sure the local news would like to report something like this
