Bill, its not the problem with the Camcorder. It the problem with the Recording Media (Digital 8 tape). Try some other tape... It will solve your problem.

What should i do my desktop goes on bleeping after I changed battery?

Bleeping? Sure it's not a Sheep?

OH, I'M JUST KIDDING!

The beeps you hear are BIOS Beep Codes. The computers way of telling you something is wrong, and an area to look into for it.

http://www.5starsupport.com/info/beep_codes.htm

I hope you had the computer unplugged, and FOLLOWED Anti-Static Precautions.

If so you probably just knocked the Ram Memory loose.
Remove all Ram Memory module/s ('Stick'), and then reinstall.
It is the only way you will be assured they are installed tightly, and correctly. Visual inspection will NOT do.

Sorry, but no one in this forum is going to be able to say "press this sequence of buttons and your expensive repair job will be done by magic".

If the bill is too high, your best option is to buy a new camera. There are several good reasons to do this even if it costs more than the repair- you should get a years warranty with a new camera (at least) and it should start out fault free. A repaired camera will be second hand at best, probably have no warranty (even on the repair) and could easily go wrong again. And it will be an older model. New digital cameras are better and cheaper than they have ever been. Dump this problem and forget it. Go problem free into the future.

If i turn on the camera the lens gets stuck halfway then bleeps and turns off? Help I can't afford a new camera or an expensive repair bill!

If the lens is stuck out then you will find it is usually one of a few reasons.

1. Check the batteries. (obvious I know).
2. The camera has been dropped or knocked.
3. The camera has grit or dirt in the lens mechanism.

Providing the batteries are ok then 2 and 3 usually mean a professional repair. The lenses tend not to be something that the average home user can remove and take apart. The cost of repair also might be more than the camera value so you will need to find a good repair shop near you and get a quote.

When the camera is turned on, it beeps and tells me to turn the

When the lens will not retract or camera is not functional (no picture on display, and does not shoot, and eventually bleeps) , and you already tried replacing batteries with a new fresh set (ensure please) , and then restarting camera with no memory card inside, then camera is faulty.

Try an easy fix by pushing gently the lens (do not force them, just help them) while you turn off camera at same time. Try also switching the mode selector.

If still no luck , then the camera must be disassembled to fix the problem.

Possible reasons are :

  • Faulty lens mechanism or jammed lens (camera usually turns off by itself in this case)
  • Main board faulty.
  • Ribbon cable to main board broken or connector defective.
  • If there is no power at all it is the connector from batteries to main board, this is also a ribbon cable.

If the camera is less than one year old will be replaced by manufacturer.

If your warranty is expired you can get an estimate for repair from manufacturer, or from a third party like Advance Camera here :Advance Camera Repair you can book the repair online.

Samsung L730 wont extend lens and dosent turn on right

Met the same problem. I disassembled camera and found a lot of sand in lens transmission. I couldn't move lens even by hand. It was strongly jammed. I had to disassemble lens block completely to remove all sand. Now camera fully functional.
