UNPLUG THE AC POWER TO THE LAPTOP REMOVE THE LARGE BATTERY ON THE BOTTOM OF THE LAPTOP. PLUG THE AC ONLY BACK IN. TURN ON IF IT COMES UP IN SAFE MODE THEN SHUT DOWN SAFELY. THEN TURN BACK ON. IF EVERYTHING COME BACK UP THEN SHUT IT DOWN ONE MORE TIME AND PUT BATTERY BACK IN AND TRY AGAIN.

THIS IS A OLD WINDOWS PROBLEM THAT MICROSOFT NEVER TRULY WAS RESOLVED. GOOD LUCK.

My creative zen won't switch on

I had the same problem and before returning it I tried reseting the player (to press the reset button you have to put a needle or something similar in a small hole on the bottom right of the zen). Now it works again as if nothing ever happened!
