Re: Lamp keeps burning out. I have had the tv 2 years....

Im not at all familiar with your sony model but I do know that when A lamp is replaced you must reset the lamp timer if it is not reset it will cause premature lamp failure.
This is normally in the engineers menu as I said I dont know your model its not one I recognise so im sorry but I cant tell you how to enter service mode.
Hopefully one of the techs on here will know how and help you.

I have a mitsubishi 3d dlp tv model wd-73640. The lamp keeps burning out. We have replaced it 3 or 4 times in a year. Do you have any idea why this keeps happening?

These lamps should last around 5 years so I can understand your frustration.

Normally the lamp life is shortened by heat issues? Do you have enough space above, to the sides and back to let air flow in and out of the television? Are all fans working? Are the fans staying on for a while after you turn off the TV?

If you're using a power strip to turn off the TV the fans can't run when the television is turned off and it won't cool properly.

I have a DLP Panasonic tv. The lamp indicator is red.Does this mean the lamp will burn out soon. If so where can I BUT A NEW LAMP.

there could be a possible problem on the convergence module, this is very common problem on the projection tv, kindly check the resistor & capacitor on that area.

let me know,

Blinking status green light red

The most common issue for this TV is the lamp.
If the current lamp in the TV set is around 2-3 years old then I would start with that. If the lamp is not original they only last about 1 year.
If you already replaced the lamp recently the next step is the ballast.

I hope my answer was helpful :)

Tv turns off after about 30 seconds and 3 red lights show

Your lamp is burned out. When powering up the lamp doesn't turn on so the TV shuts down. Replace the lamp and it should fix the problem. This happens with mine about 1 per year and everytime it's the lamp.

Hi,Osram lamps average around 3000-4000 hrs.Normally 1 -1 1/2 yr.I do think the lamp went out.The ballast is a possibility, when it's going bad it will make clicking noises or attempts to light the bulb.I recommend to get the Original Philips lamp for they average 6000-8000 hrs 3-4 yrs.

TV turns off..lamp light flashs

I have one of these. It sounds like your projection light bulb has burned out & it needs to be replaced. Last time I checked (2 years ago), they were about $200. They are not hard to change if you are handy. Follow the directions, do NOT touch the bulb with your bare hands, use gloves or the oil from your hand will cause it to burn out prematurely. If you are not handy, call for a repair person.

Bulb keeps burning out

There are several reasons for short lamp life. Inadequate ventilation or clogged cooling fans, a bad lamp driver or lamp ballast (they are the same) and the use of non-original Sony lamps, as the aftermarket replacements are known problem causers. Remember too that the number of times the lamp is turned on and off is a BIG factor in how long the lamp will last.
