On this 416 machine, there is one place you cannot see a jam.
Looking at the machine the right side doors need to be opened.
The lower trays feed paper and need to go up the by pass feeder area.
Just lower and behind the by-pass feeder the paper can get stuck, and you cannot see it.
If you try to push a card stock up from the bottom, the paper can be pushed out.
The other area is at the fuser. If the switch is worn it will not drop back into position. The tip of the switch wears and breaks off.
It is rare a sensor goes out on this machine, besides the fuser sensor. Each paper feed head needs to be checked to see if the paper sensors are bad.
Not seeing the machine, call Xerox for service repair if not resolved.

I would like to add, in the fuser assembley there is a fuser exit switch. This switch is right next to the fuser roll. In time this switch does decompose and start to get brittle and chip away surface acutation area of the actuator.

In most cases this is a complicated repair job for the manufacture service representative.

If the switch needs to be replace along with the fuser sensor, the entire part of this section needs to be inspected, repaird and or some components need to be replaced.

    Good luck.

Xerox Workcentre 4150. Paper keeps jamming in print engine area. We clear the jam and it jams again.

If your Xerox WC 4150 is displaying "Clear the Jam in the Print Engine" or constantly jams as paper exits the machine you should check and possibly replace the fuser actuator (part# 120N00534) This is the most likely cause, if however this does not fix the printer the next step may be to replace the sensor or fuser.
Here is a video that shows you how to check and replace the actuator. ItemInc.com has this part in stock and ships same day. Good luck, and thanks for using FixYa!

sounds like the unit has an issue with one of the rollers not activating. contact a repair technition, any one worth their weight should be able to diagnose in a few hours. units with so many moving parts are hard to diagnose without visuals.

Workcentre Pro 2636 giving error message of: Clear Jam in area 1. we have done this with no luck. Have opened and cleared all areas, even shut the machine down and started back up with no luck. Any...

From past experience this is more often than not caused by a little tiny piece of ripped paper still stuck in the machine somewhere. Turn all rollers and have a really thorough check, especially inbetween the rollers and under any clip down areas on the rollers too..

Can't get the old drum to come out of the copier. It seems as if it is caught up on something. I have a workcentre pro 416

When you open the right side door, look toward the back, about 4 inches above the drum. You will see a pin about 1.8th of an inch in diameter. It is spring loaded but is most likely stuck in. Just pull it out gently and it should slide out, releasing the drum shutter, that should allow you to remove the drum wheh you depress the handle.
That is the most common reason that drum will stick.

Paper jam

if you cleared the paper jam an your printer still shows this paper jam, you may try this:
1. after you clear the paper jam, turn off an on the printer.
2. if above advice is not working you may try to look more carefully (with a flashlight maybe) if a small piece of paper is not blocking the paper jam sensor.
3. unfortunately this is a job for a qualify serviceman.
4. in less then 2-3 % of cases is a defective sensor, and must be replace by a serviceman.

Xerox 416 Fuser

Is it getting thru the "pinch of the fuser and catching on the stripper fingers? If so clean the fingers, ensure they are not worn or tips broken.(Running sheets with dark lead edge can cause sheets to stick to rollers, try running blank sheets to clean up, if they get thru then try normal copies)
If the sheet stops before entering the rolls more likely to be dirty entry chute, drive problem or sensor problem....need more detail
