How to OPEN the rear cover of Singer briliance sewing Machine

The feed dogs on the 7033 shouldn't drop down. This model uses a cover over the feed dogs when doing free-motion sewing. To remove the cover, raise the needle and presser foot. Open the slide plate over the bobbin by sliding it towards you. Lift up the front edge of the cover and pull it away. Close the slide plate and lower the presser foot.

I hope this helps. If the feed dogs are actually down and not covered, there is probably something broken in the sewing machine.

Most Singer Merritt sewing machines do not drop the feed dogs. Instead, you place a cover over the feed dogs. Here's one replacement for the cover: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/feed-cover-plate-singer-360-sewing-machine.aspx . This fits the Merritt 2404 and Merritt 3130, among others.

Here are the steps to open the bobbin compartment on a Singer 4411 sewing machine:

1. Turn off the sewing machine and unplug it from the power outlet.
2. Locate the bobbin compartment on the front side of the machine, below the needle plate.
3. Hold the handwheel on the right side of the machine with your right hand and turn it towards you (counterclockwise) until the needle is at its highest position.
4. Slide the bobbin cover release button, located to the right of the bobbin compartment, to the right and hold it there.
5. The bobbin cover should now pop open. Gently pull it towards you to fully open the compartment.

To close the bobbin compartment, simply push the bobbin cover back into place until it clicks and locks into position.

For the most part, computerized machines are made so the covers are difficult to remove as the company does not want internal components to be damaged. Usually, the pieces have plastic pieces that snap together. Trying to open the machine could break those plastic clips. You should probably seek professional help.

The Singer Imperial 7005 does not have a feed dog lever. Instead there is a feed dog cover that gets placed over the needle plate. To remove the cover, raise the needle and presser foot. Open the slide plate, then lift up the front edge (closest to the bobbin) of the cover. Then pull the feed dog cover away from the sewing machine.

You have to unscrew the cover of your sewing machine on the left top and once it is unscrewed you take the cover off and insert a new bulb and then replace the cover.
