SOURCE: My Denon AVR-887 Keeps turning itself off

I have one and the same thing happened. try resetting your microprocessor and if that does not work, then check the wiring of the speakers. if that is working fine and no wires are touching then I unplugged everything and was still having the issue. took it in for service and it was found that the transmitor was shorted as the speakers that I was using was too high in ohms. it is possible that it could be your caps also if resetting the microprocessor does not help. You can find out how to reset the microprocessor from your manual. If you have the Denon avr 887 with the system turned off hold the power on button and the speaker A and B at the same time for a few seconds. This is compatible to rebooting your computer. Hope this works for you as this was and is my husbands favorite past times.

SOURCE: Denon AVR-3802 Problem

Check that your speaker cables are not touching each other at the amp end and also at the speakers as this will cause the amp to shut down.

hope this helps.

SOURCE: Denon avr-1804 its turns back after 5 sec

Disconnect all speaker wires on back and then turn on. If it happens again, it's most likely a power supply problem. If it doesn't happen again, it was probably crossed speaker wires.

Assuming you mean a Denon AVR 587,
1. Turn the unit off.
2. Press and hold Speaker A and B buttons at the same time.
3. Still holding Speaker A and B buttons, press the Power button to turn the unit on.
4. The display should flash on and off at 1 second intervals.
5. Release the Speaker A and B buttons.

Denon avr-587 shows h/p only in display,no audio out.

The problem usually is very simple - bad connection in head phone connector located on the front of the unit.
You need to find any headphones with 1/4 jack and plug it into receiver several times. It clean internal contacts in the connector and your receiver will work again. Good idea to use contact cleaner during the process. Thanks.

I have a Denon AVR-587. It has worked fine for 2-3 years, but ever since I tried to connect it to a different set of speakers, it cuts out after a few minutes and I hear this loud clicking sound coming...

There is a short either on the speaker wires to the speakers or the speakers are defective (some sort of a short or too low of resistance). Lastly, check to see if a stray strand of wire is not touch the left and right terminals. Any short in the network (wire, lack of insulation, staple, screw, etc. ) will cause the system to clip.

Make sure that the volume is not muted or too low on the TV...the TV volume output to your receiver will be performing the function of a pre-amp to your receiver. Then select the appropriate input on the receiver that you have the TV audio connected to.

I have no sound on the avr-587 zone 2 when set to tv mode, but do get sound in zone 2 when using the tuner. What am I doing wrong?

You need to run an Analog (RCA) cable from your Cable Box, DSS, or FIOS to the Analog input of the receiver. It does not see digital signal input on secondary zones. Hope this helps
