Hi Jlewis06,

The Big Size PS2 does not usually have any problem with this.If you do have the Phat size PS2, the power connection is easy to replce and you can get another one on Ebay relatively cheap. I do believe you have a Slim PS2. The slim does have a high rate of failure in the power Socket. It either needs another motherboard, or the Power socket needs to be resoldered carefully or replaced. You can Click on the "Repair Directory" link at the bottom of the page and look for Video Game console repair.

My ps3 turns on but no picture

First, how are you connecting? RCA jacks(red yellow white cords) or HDMI? If it's the RCA cords, they were known to develope shorts in the yellow cord that connects to your TV. Just try another cord. They are very cheap, and the cords from all of the other Playstations will work for the PS3. Second, try to do a picture reset on your system. Sometimes, going from HDMI, back to the RCA confuses the system because the RCA connections are NOT detected automatically, HDMI is. To do a picture reset, turn the system on, then push the power button once,(you'll hear a beep) then push and hold the power button until the system shuts off.(you should hear 2 beeps) Then when you turn the system back on, the picture will be reset. ^^ Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Ps3 controller manual

You plug in the usb cable to charge the controller and connect it to the ps3 for the first time. You use the left analog stick to move around the dashboard when the ps3 is turned on and the 'X' button to change settings, go to the online browser, playstation store, or start a game. You can back out by pressing 'O' or holding the 'PS' button, which allows you to change a controller number (say controller #1 to #2 with two controllers), turn off the system or turn off the controller. Press (not hold) the controller to look around the dashboard while in a game and select say "Quit Game', or go into settings and change something around to your liking. Every game also comes with the controls and for what the buttons are. (Stick on left is the, "Left Analog Stick," right is "Right Analog Stick," from right to left starting at the green triangle shaped button is the, "Triangle," "Circle," "X," and "Square," buttons. The four buttons on the left going in all directions is the D-pad, and the triggers on the back going from the top left to bottom left and top right to bottom right are, "L1," "L2," "R1," "R2").

We think there is something wrong with the video and audio plugs, that go into the tv. But were still not sure. The playstation does turn on we can hear it. But it will not appear on the tv. When I say we...

Hello, To test what the problem is, I would recommend finding a friends whole also has a PlayStation 2. Offer good company and maybe lunch to bring his/ hers PlayStation 2 over. I would then attempt to plug in the friends PlayStation 2 into your TV and attempt to play a game, If It does work then you know the problem lies in your personal PlayStation, If it does not work then the problem could lie within the TV's internals, Possible the component connections. Assuming the game does play on your Tv, I would recommend using some tape to mark your friends cords, console and power supply (don't want to mix them up) and then start by using your friends Cords one at a time to see if you can get your console working properly. Probable can skip the power supply because you mentioned you can hear the driver start.

Best Wishes and Good luck!!!

Playstation 2 comes on for short time then quits?

My cousin was having the same problem with his PS2 coming on then going back off. Upon further investigation, it turned out he was holding the power button too long and was essentially turning on and back off. I hope this helps.
