Help with zanussi it wont fill with water

My zanussi ZWF 14581W wont fill with water and displays no error message. It was bought March 2008. Now out of warranty. Independant engineer checked all the normal stuff and could not explain it. We now have to call out a Zanussi repair man which costs quite a lot and then there is parts to pay for. Should I repair it? Or bin it. Really disappointed in Zaunussi. 14 months come on?

We have a Zanussi Washing machine ZWF 14581W. The problem is we have no water entering the machine. I have removed and cleaned the water inlet hose which is not blocked. I have also emptied the emergency...

My guess is that the water inlet valve solenoid is not operating. DISCONNECT FROM POWER. Take top off, The assembly connected to the inlet hose is the inlet valve solenoid. Do you know how to use a test meter? If so remove the wires from the solenoid connect meter to the wires on appropriate range and check for mains on the wires as you start a washing program the machine. THIS IS DANGEROUS SO IF YOU AREN'T OK ASK SOMEONE COMPETENT. You must ensure that the connections to the meter cant touch anything at all when you switch on !!!!!. SO HANDS OFF If mains is getting to the wires at the fill stage the valve is broken. Replace it, it is obviously held by screws. As an alternative you could use a mains tester screwdriver and see if it lights up when touching one of the terminals as fill is selected. If the fill valve is getting power and not operating it's the valve. If not the problem lies elsewhere but you don't mention any error codes so I assume the door switch is OK. If it thinks the door is not shut it won't fill. Hope that helps.

Zanussi Electrolux ZWF 1430 W (E20 error)

Check water "forreign object trap". It's under the lid at the bottom of the machine. First drain water by pulling out the hose and pull out the plug. Then unscrew the trap. Have had this E20 error twice. First it was two coins there, next it was a big paperclip. Have worked fine ever since.11_20_2011_8_57_27_am.jpg
