You have either a faulty solenoid valve on the cold intake or you may have knocked some limescale into the valve while changing the pipes. Try some descaler in the valve first and operate a few times. Hope that makes sense!

Why is my GE top load mechanical washer not filling with water?

You may need to use a Y adapter to feed pressure to both inlets to get the machine to fill. If it senses no pressure on one inlet it wont fill. You can run both inlets to on source. Since you did not post the model number it is hard to say. Some machines also test the water temp to see if it is warm enough to start or it needs to preheat.

Washer will not fill up with water

Is water switched on? Is water reaching soap drawer? If it is then there is a blockage in the soap drawer hose to the drum, if no water is getting here check the filters at the water intake valves are not blocked where the feed pipes fit. If these are clear try a cold wash setting to see if you get water filling, if you do then it may be a faulty hot water intake valve.

Does the Indesit model No W113 have to have hot and cold water intake or can I blank off the hot water intake?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
In two words- NO and NO! No, you need it to be cold fill only (presumably) and No, you do not need to blank off the hot water intake.
You will need to purchase, from a hardware (?) store, a 'Y' adapter. Upside down the single end screws onto the cold water supply and the hot and cold was pipes from the washer screw onto the double end. The washer is fooled into thinking it has hot and cold! When it expects hot, it opens its hot valve but instead gets the cold water and has to heat it up. It will therefore take longer for the machine to do the washing. When it wants cold for rinses, it opens its cold valve and gets the same water! Simple ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

Water is slowing coming from the laundry detergent area, and will not fill the washer. checked both hot and cold tubes for clogs and checked piping. wondering if anyone has the right answer because i can't...

The problem is the inlet valve which the hoses connect to at the back of the machine.

check the hot and cold water intake, independantly of each other. It is rare to find both valves failing at the same time.

However, your hot water valve could have failed before and you did not notice, and now the cold water valve has deteriorated.

Good luck.

Matag alantis no cold water

check to see if you have power to the fill valve when the cold water should be going in;(reverse the connectors on the fill valve) i.e. hot now will not go in... replace the fill valve: (buy it at an appliance parts store) (inexpensive) it's an easy replacement job

Water intake

sounds like a problem with your selector switch , or you ve hooked up your hoses backwards(pretty common issue).new accutemp water temps will indeed turn hot water on even though yuove sselected cold/cold wash. Energy guidelines state that there is an optimimum "cold" temp and if your water is too cold it will turn on the hot water to stablize a warmer "cold".
