No it can not. the sound card in your computer has no power behind it, only a signal. the acoustimass needs power from an amp. you can connect your computer to a home theater reciever and get what you are trying to do, with a simple 3.5 to rca cable.

Recently I bought a Harman Kardon HK 3770 Stereo receiver. My question is " can I use a Bose 901 Series VI speaker with this receiver?, since I plan to buy a 901 S VI speaker.. The receiver has no tape...

From the description of the Harmon Kardon, it sounds like you should be able to use the speakers, but you will not be able to use the active equalizer. The equalizer is designed to be cabled into the tape monitoring loop and allows you to listen to the equalized signal coming back into the receiver. Attach the +/- speaker wires to the right and left channel speaker connectors on your receiver.

Hi, I have a Cinemate Bose Speaker Series II System and I would like to know if I could connect Stereo Jacks from the Bose Module to a Stereo Receiver without damaging the speakers or subwoofer, and if...

That would depend on the unnamed receiver.

Most receivers have standard analog stereo outputs labeled Tape Out or something similar. You can use them as sources for stereo analog material but their outputs are not variable or under any receiver sound controls so the Bose volume will need to be adjusted. If using a Tape Output, do not select the output for listening on the receiver. THAT would disconnect the other source you're listening to.

If your receiver has a Pre-Out for the desired channels, they ARE under internal sound controls so you could set and forget the Bose volume.

Good morning. I want to get an idea on how to connect my Panasonic lcd TCL32X1X to my Bose Sound System. What I want is to hear tv programs thru the Bose speakers.

TV's are video OUTPUT devices, not sound INPUT devices.

Get the TV-related audio into the Bose directly from the digital audio output of the same source from which the TV is getting the video. You can also run a mid-fi RCA analog stereo feed to the TV (if it has speakers) so you can watch and listen to stuff without the Bose turned on.

I dont know how to hook up my bose speakers to my Dell desktop...Im not sure where to plug things in...? HELP!

This all depends on some unknown regarding your PC and its hardware and software sound capabilities. At a minimum it probably has a headphone output. That can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to an amp or receiver.

The Bose AM5iii is just a speaker system. It needs an amp or receiver to produce the power to drive it. Most PC's are made to directly power only headphones or self-powered speakers.

If your PC has a sound card with Digital Audio Out (usually RCA-looking coaxial SP/DIF); or Audio Line Out connections (usually 1/8" and color-coded for Front L and R; Surround L and R; and Center / Sub), you COULD run those to an appropriate multichannel amplifer or receiver and let IT do the speaker thing for you.

Bottom line: you need intervening amplification to use the Bose AM5iii on a PC.

Garbled / feedback sounds from powered subwoofer

The surround processing portion of the unit has a problem. In either stereo or direct mode, the digital procesing is bypassed. This could be just the surround processing IC, but that IC may not be available as a separate part. I would suggest that you bring this unit to an authorized Onkyo service center for an estimate.

How do I connect my bose 901 active equalizer to a onkyo tx-sr506

AV receivers are notoriously incompatable for Bose 901s. The problem is the EQ charges the entire system and could damage the surround processor. Some higher end AV receivers, including some of the newer Onkyo models have pre out power in inputs on main or all seven channels.which you could install your EQ directly between pre amp & power amp without damaging processor. You can also add a two-channel amplifier to the pre out jacks front channels and use your recever's remote to control volume.

How to connect bose 901 speakers to 5.1 setup?

The solution is simple and cheaper than you think.

The analog 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 outputs on your receiver should be active even with digital inputs that you want to hear. Your receiver turns everything it processes into analog output just before the speakers anyway so there's no loss of access to multichannel sound this way.

What I did was to buy a separate amp for the 901's and feed the Front L&R analog audio out to the EQ which is directly in front of the amp. The Active EQ is only for the 901's which don't have woofers or tweeters so Bose flattened out its final response electronically with some serious boosting at both ends. Having it in line with any other speakers would feed them a grossly over-compensated signal.

Your receiver will drive the rest of the speakers.

This is the cheapest way to have your 901's and hear them, too. Since the 901's are really efficient you don't have to buy a big amp that would heat the room. I'm using a separate Carver amp with 2x100w for mine.
