First try cleaning the lens if you have not already done so. If that doesn't work then look at the lens with a magnifying glass (power off) If you can see any marks or scratches, then they will stop the disc being read. If you can't remove them with a cotton bud and some cleaning fluid (IE: Video 40) or Isopropyl Alcohol solution product. Then the part will need to be replaced.

Cd inserted in cd player no disc

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, overtime the laser becomes weak until it will no longer read the disc, it is far cheaper to replace the stereo than have the old unit repaired.

WON'T PLAY CD'S READS "NO DISC"

  • Check the disc you're using for scratches and dirt. If the disc is damaged it won't play properly, regardless of the CD player's ability to function. You can use a CD repair device like the "Disc Doctor" to repair the CD or purchase a new CD.

  • Clean the laser lens with a CD laser lens cleaning disc. CD laser lens cleaning discs can be purchased at most electronics retailers or online. Insert the laser lens cleaning disc and follow the instructions.

  • Insert a correctly-formatted, undamaged disc into your player. Listen to see if it begins to read the disc. If it continues to make no sound and gives you the same message, then the problem is probably that your disc is not spinning in the device.

  • Clean the lens while the DVD player is open. A dirty lens is most likely the cause of your no-disc error. The lens should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.

Don't read disk. Any disk. Don't see disk. IC 102?

Is the laser shooting up? If the red laser is there when u press play, then there's alignment issue with TX and track balance or the laser is getting weaker that its not powerful enough to read the cd. If ure a professional in tuning it, then fine tune it to make it reach the disc. If u have no idea what im talking about, then get the diagram and check for voltage and alignment instructions

Sony CDP-C225 will not read or play cd's

Try running a "Laser Lens Cleaner" thru it, preferrably one that uses fluid. You can purchase one at just about any retail store for 15-20. Good to have and great preventative maintanance. If that does not work, you need a new transport, they do not repair or align lasers. Too expensive. The replacement is 100-150 with labor and a new one is under 200. My suggestion would be if the cleaner does not work replace it and keep the new one clean. CD/DVD/PC etc. all can and should be cleaned 3 or 4 times a year. Best preventative maintanance you can do. Hope this helps

No manual is available from pioneer for download.

ERROR 11 on pioneer cd players is common.

It can be due to a failing laser or dirty lens. It means that the CD was not recognised, either because of the CD scratched, or it could possibly mean the laser is out of alignment.

If the player works fine with other discs - chances are it needs a good cleaning.

If the player wont read any discs - it's time for a service call. Typically - I charge $50USD for clean and alignment.

you can do it yourself (clean it) by disassembling the player, and using a qtip and isopropyl alcohol - however an alignment requires a special alignment tool.

They dont normally go out of focus, any trouble reading discs / freezing is usually caused by a worn out laser which will require replacement.

With use, the laser tends to weaken. It is possible that it has reached the end of its lifespan. It is also possible that with use, the tracking alignment has drifted off specs.

You can call Panasonic to find out where their service rep is located for you to have a quotation for repair. If it is only tracking alignment that needs to be re-set up, the repair cost would be an hour or two for the work done. If the laser is defective, then the repair will be fairly expensive.

    Stanton C500 Dual CD Player

hi, check that when the right side tray closes the screen must show up READ or DISC CHECK. the behaviour must be the same as the left side cd deck. if loading is faulty then the cd tray is out of alignment or sensing swithches are faulty. if disc is loading then u have a laser pickup problem or the laser ribbon cable is intermittent or the spindle motor is tired or the laser lens needs accurate cleaning. cheers.
