I have the same problem. I don't know if it is a firmware problem. If so, I think I must format the disk, loosing all recordings. So I'm waiting for an oportunity to do so. If any other solution is known, please state.

I have the same problem on my RH 278 It appears that the you need to open the recorder and clean the switches. On this forum there is some pictures of how to do same. Search some more on the site at
