Network cable is unplugged this message only appears when you are not connected through cable and that`s what you are doing.for your information it`s very normal which you`ll see in every computer.

Same situation here. Wired connection from modem works fine. I can also log in to the router via routerlogin.net. However, the router does not detect an internet connection.

Connecting 2nd computer to router via wireless

first, your router wont look for your laptop. your laptop has to find your router. make sure your wireless card is activated on your laptop. right click on the icon where it says network cable unplugged. it should then say "view available networks". click on that and look for your network. if you need further guidance, write me back and tell me what brand of laptop you have. also, for the second tower, if you are trying to go wireless with it, then you need a wireless adapter.

Belkin N router reads everything but the computer.

If your router was working before, and suddenly stopped working, then you probably need to reset it.
Unplug the router from power, also unplug all network cables from it.
Wait about 30 seconds.
Plug power back in, followed by network cables.
Wait some more seconds while the router restarts.
Only the Power light and the Status light should be solid.
All others in use must be blinking, which means they are in use.

Try connecting to the internet with cable first, then try wireless.

It should work.

NIC blinks on then off for longer run lines

You need to update the firmware of the router then hard reset it.

Download the router's firmware at www.linksys.com/download

After updating the firmware, you need to hard reset the router.

Press the reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds then unplug the power for 30 secs then plug it back in. That should fix it.

Pc's say a network cable is unplugged

First, NO, crossover cables are for connecting LIKE devices.. you need a Straight Thru cable for connecting 2 PCs to a switch.. So, if you are using Crossovers, then you are getting the correct results (cable unplugged). Replace with the proper cables, and it should see the network fine..

Also,

As this ProCurve HP 408 is 10/100 auto sensing, you should be able to automate speed and duplex within your NICs conifiguration...

Network Cable Unplugged

This is odd as the connection icon with the cross on it refers to a wired connection and not wireless. Right click the icon then select dissable. Go to your wireless card in network connections and right click then connect. Also go into your routers properties and see if it is allocating your wireless card an IP address, this should show along side your other PC's allocated IP addreses.
