First, check the power cable that is attached to the adapter if it is working fine then surely it is an adapter problem.you can check the adapter using digital multimeter

DELL E1705 model. When connecting AC adapter, even before pressing power button, led in power adapter goes off immediately. Why ? The power adapter is OK. When connected with Battery, no switch-on.

Since the system is not working ion both battery and the adaptor it could be a faulty motherboard.. Call dell @18006249896 if you are in warranty.. Contact local tech if thr\e system is out of warranty....

My toshiba l300 can't even power.the led lights are not coming on.i have tasted the charger and it's working

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then -
The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Laptop is not charging

Do you have a voltmeter or a test light? It's either the power supply cord, the battery or the charging curcuit on the motherboard. Does anything light up when you connect the power cord to the laptop?

DC in light flashes orange

You need to test the AC Adapter For Correct Power Flow-Through... Use A Multimeter (available at any Home Improvement Store)

If That Tests Good.....

You Will Need To Test The DC Jack (the port where your Charger Cord Plugs Into On The Laptop.....)

If An Incorrect Adapter Was Used, You Might Have Shorted Out The Motherboard..

My Sony PCG-K10 Laptop is not powering up.

Either the ac adapter is defective or the dc connector on the motherboard is bad. I would test the ac adapter with a volt meter and make sure you are getting voltage through first. If there is power then likely the dc jack and someone will have to solder in a new connector

Acer Aspire 5600

You still need to test the AC cord better.. Wiggling it in different areas to see if there is a break in the wires.... That is why i said watch for the Power light (when I say Power Light, not the one on the ac adapter cord... the power light on your laptop...)to see if it flickers or turns off at any point while you're testing the cord... If you have a Solid Lighted Power Light the whole time youre testing the AC cord (bending & wiggling it) then it is probably not the cord itself and i would then lean towards the DC jack...
