Why Toyota Fortuner airbag lights stays on for a long time, but then goes off after the car is switch off and on again?

try disconecting battery / if that does not work you will have to find out why it is staying on

let me tell you its solution....:)
do check all filters and engine oil...
if it still remains then replace its battery ...
its all done

SRS SYSTEM HAS A FAULT , THIS COULD MEAN MANY THING
INPORANT TO KNOW SRS DOES A SELF CHECK EVERYTIME YOU START YOU VEHICLE , THIS LETS YOU KNOW IF THE SYSTEM IS WORKING OR NOT.

IT LOOKS AS IF YOU HAVE A FAULT WITH A PART OF THE SRS CIRCUIT.
PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO FIX , COULD BE DANGEROUS!!!
YOU NEED TO TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER.
THEY WILL SCAN SYSTEM.
AFTERMARKET GARAGES DONT HAVE AXCESS TO THE SRS SYSTEM.
THERE COULD BE A SHORT OR OPEN IN CIRCUIT.

The light for the Airbag/SRS system is on because the system control module has sensed a fault and turned off the airbag SRS system. What you must do now is have a scan done of the airbag module to see what fault codes show up in the airbag modules memory.
