Power light stays on for about a minute and keeps going out.

Nothing works . The door won't open and nothing comes on the display screen . The player is old but it doesn't get a lot of use .

SOURCE: I have a Zenith DVD

Hello, Alwaysfuelin, Hi, that type of trouble is a failure of the main circuit controller ROM board. Sorry this requires replacement of the main board Or be reprogrammed again. Only manufacturers can do this, unless we salvage one of the same model.

My dvd is connected and shows the green light. I can open & close the disc door but nothing happens when I push th input button.

I'm sorry that the DVD player is displaying green light and nothing is displaying input button. Please follow the below general tips and check if that helps.
  1. Please make sure that the connections are secure and proper.
  2. Try inserting another disc and check the operation.
  3. Unplug the DVD player from wall outlet and connect it back after 1 minute to perform a power reset and check the operation.
  4. Check whether you're able to see the DVD player logo on the TV screen.
  5. If not, keep pressing the INPUT button until it makes any changes on the TV screen for a minute.

I hope the information helpful. If the issue persists, please get back to me with more details about the issue so that I can more look in to this. Please include the following information in your reply.
  • When did the issue started occurring?
  • Have you made any changes since it's last normal working?
  • What is the connection between the TV and the DVD player? Also inform if you're using a standalone DVD player.
  • Provide me the model # of the DVD player and TV/display device.

Year old advent netbook 4211b will not turn on,

When you press power button press F1 or F2 or "del" key if you can see bios screen then you not need to refix RAM memory or reset bios.
IF you can see bios screen then lake sure harddisk is detected and SATA is disable then save settings and exit.
Also when you power up press F8 key if you able to see safe mode and other menu then you have change screen resolution enter in enable vga mode.
Then open control panel and display then change scree resolution to 1024*768.
Then apply and ok.
But if you can't see bios screen or nothing in dispaly then you have to refix RAM memory .
Check in back side there is 1 plate open it then refix RAM memory.
If still not get display then open back cover of laptop then find motherbord on it then pull cmos cell for 10 minutes so all settings go to defaults then again refix cmos cell then check.

Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.

Same exact problem as above three. Now what?
Wish I could hear how others resolved the issue - or did they? It's just over a year old.

DVD player froze, now only turns off

Sounds like the power supply in the dvd player has failed. It works just well enough to turn on the led infront but as soon as you go to do anything it shuts off. This is common in cheaper dvd players. Unless you can troubleshoot electronics. Or know someone that can. Your best bet is to unplug the unit and disassemly and retrieve your dvd.
